    Pros

Fast growing environment and a lot of changes. System upgrades. Keeps you busy all the time. Right time to be in, if you willing to put in extra time

    Cons

Things take some time to be implemented , no work life balance culture. You will not get a lot of trainings

I worked at Axalta (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Competitive salary and bonus structure; leader in the Coatings industry; challenging work; fairly new company with aggressive growth targets

    Cons

Leadership is in a bit of disarray right now. Changing out many of the legacy management from previous parent and new management has not really gelled yet. IT is a great example. Management turnover has led to a confused and frustrated workforce.

    Advice to Management

Focus on a few key strategies for growth, and fund and staff them for success. Prioritize and listen to your people.

I worked at Axalta (More than a year)

    Pros

Some great people, some very cool projects, amazing industry potential.
    Depends who you work with/for.
They have the opportunity to really kill it in the market and industry but...

    Cons

... but seem to be very short-sighted and fragmented in guidance.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your people - remove the fear of being fired or outsourced and they will shine - at all levels.
Open your eyes and ears / stop hiding in your offices - your people have great ideas.
Don't hire for skills and not let people do what the do best.
Not everything is price and product.
Get HEART back into the business and you will do great things.
Use Teams - little islands of individual decision makers are not very effective.

I have been working at Axalta full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good company with a solid history. The old timers from DuPont are gone. Work-life is acceptable (at least in some departments).

    Cons

The medical benefits are average at best. There is no stock purchase plan, the relo plan is a joke, all managers (and some Directors) sit in cubes, so those 1-1 meetings w/ your boss is really filtered.

    Advice to Management

Provide stock purchase plan to your employees without them having to be broker fees. Get our managers offices (especially in headquarters)

I have been working at Axalta full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team environment is nice. 7 day break every month except when you are forced to work overtime.

    Cons

A lot of pressure and danger for the compensation. Company rewards people who take shortcuts and ignore protocol. New employees are not on the same pay scale as "duponters".

    Advice to Management

You should appreciate the people who are breathing paint fumes day and night and risking being blown up.

    Pros

Pay is decent. Work is easy and indoors. Flexible start times. Safety for workers is a priority. Chemists and Engineers try to help you learn the job.

    Cons

Health benefits keep getting cut every year. Difficult to advance your career unless you have a PhD. Lack of communication from lab management.

    Advice to Management

Talk to the workers. Listen to what the workers have to say and make changes if necessary. Get rid of incompetent people.

    I worked at Axalta full-time

    Pros

There was a lot of exciting work to transition the business to become independent. It was an opportunity to simplify complexity.

    Cons

All new management brought in following the purchase of business and sale from DuPont.
New management does not value people who were there prior to the sale.
