    Pros

Great work life balance, everyone is nice to work with.
Christmas bonuses with catered lunch, Christmas parties at the Ritz, Summer picnic, Axiom pick up tab for all luncheons and after hour work related activities. Company supports Fisher House, and other community causes. Employees and company give gifts to needed children at Christmas.

    Cons

I have no cons to report.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Axiom appears to be a very nice company, the employees seem satisfied with Management and the benefits that the company offers.

    Cons

Salaries are very low. Should inform new hires if contract is ending within first 30 days of hire.

    Advice to Management

I would ensure that salaries are commensurate with experience and position.

I worked at Axiom Resource Management full-time

    Pros

Axiom has exceptional health and dental benefits, and they try to look out for their employees in general. They usually hire good people, so your coworkers definitely stand out against other contractors in the environment. You won't be put on multiple projects or asked to work extra hours for the most part. Large training budget.

    Cons

Not sure that salary is as good as competitors'. Not a lot of room for growth within the company- middle and upper management seem pretty set in place (not about to age out) and cliquey. I didn't see a lot of people moving from junior roles to senior ones without leaving the company.

    Advice to Management

If you're hoping to retain the junior employees, you have to show them how they'll be able to advance.

Former Employee - IT Specialist in Falls Church, VA

I worked at Axiom Resource Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great place to share new ideas and get things implemented
    - Company has good gatherings for staff and their families (i.e. summer picnics, ball games, Christmas parties)
    - Flexible when it comes to family illness and medical issues
    - Employees are brought around to get visibility into other departments

    Cons

    - PTO is slow to acquire
    - Some task leads are micro-managing
    - Some staff tries to degrade choices, even if it will help others in the long run
    - Although management is decent, no one took the time to stop by and check in on their staff and see what could be done better to improve (i.e. cross-training, motivation, etc)

    Advice to Management

    - Check in on your staff once in a while (more than once a year during Christmas)
    - Don't force staff to take leave when staff has plans to use it for a specific time (i.e. vacation)
    - Put sick and vacation leave into one bucket
    - Recognize great staff earlier
    - Cross-train employees earlier in the process rather than later
    - Bring up new opportunities to staff when you know of them instead of seeing staff leave if those people want to stay with the company

    Pros

Very mature organization with great people. Great Christmas Party! Offer every other Friday off/condensed work schedule.

    Cons

Depending on which contract, internal management pretty micro-managing including with schedule and day to day activities.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Alexandria, VA

I worked at Axiom Resource Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay was competitive and the benefits decent, but more PTO would have been good.

    Cons

Task leader role was more of a personal services contractor than a non-personal one. Work boundaries between contractor and government director were crossed. Task Lead was "on call." Work environment was the most rigid I have ever experienced. Every part of office day was scrutinized and micromanaged. Horrible experience.

    Advice to Management

Pay better attention to work relationships between government and contractor personnel.
