I have been working at Ayzenberg full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Killer creative office environment, filled with natural light, resources, interactive spaces, art, and most importantly, bright and fun idea-generators and executers; great location in Pasadena; free snacks, coffee, good quality tea; paid vacation, health benefits and stock options. I feel valued, understood and rewarded for the work I do.

    Cons

There are definitely some passive-aggressive characters in the office, but they are in a minority. There is a slight turnover, but people who are willing to walk that extra mile, collaborate and who are passionate about what we do here, stick around.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I have been working at Ayzenberg full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Best Job I have ever had. Ayzenberg has given me the opportunity to learn new and amazing things. The culture and vibe are always fun and positive as long as you are doing your work. This company provides us extra benefits that I haven't experienced at any other places.

    Cons

Just like all other companies, Ayzenberg has its ups and downs. People come and go but the company always strives to do right by its employees.

    I worked at Ayzenberg full-time

    Pros

The media team still has some good clients they are fighting to keep/grow, and there are solid opportunities for certifications and training

    Cons

The leadership that manages the media department use intimidation tactics, aggression, bullying and fear in many capacities to control their team instead of empower them. The morale in the department is incredibly low, and favoritism runs rampant creating a toxic clique dynamic. There is a complete lack of respect at the leadership level for the team that actually does the work, evidenced by the constant... condescending remarks, gossiping and complete disregard for personal time or boundaries. The worst part is that there are absolutely no consequences despite the revolving door on this team.

    Advice to Management

Reevaluate your leadership and ensure people are treated with dignity, respect and integrity from the top down if you care about your media team. If not, people will continue to move on to bigger and better opportunities.

I have been working at Ayzenberg full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Company is years ahead in comparison to other Media Agencies in terms of technology and tools. - There is access to training and opportunities here that aren't offered in other places

    Cons

The environment within the Media Department that handles the Microsoft, Windows and Gaming accounts is very vile. It's perpetuated by leaders who use bullying, fear tactics, and condescending criticism/remarks to control their subordinates. They facilitate an environment of hate towards people in other departments who they view as a threat to their power and authority. They create rumors and hate message... against anyone who doesn't become part of their "gang". They hire friends and relatives of friends to work under them, in order to strengthen their grip on the department. They protect and babysit their people while dumping hard projects on others. There is a particular need there to condescend anyone who they feel is a competition. It's their way of making themselves feel superior and showing power that they know more, even when they don't know what they are doing with their accounts. Since the the leaders within there protect each other no matter how many HR rules they break with their abusive behavior, there is no fear of any real consequence.

    Advice to Management

The more Ayzenberg allow this kind of toxic people to facilitate an environment of bullying, hate and fear, the more it will continue to show a lack of respect to its current employees; whether they be in that department or another department. When employees see that the upper management is not taking a stand against bullies and abusive people, those employees will be disheartened and lose faith in the company.... Plenty of good, loyal and hard working people have already left the company and more are in the process of leaving. What they are seeing are leaders who don't have the courage to do the Right Thing against this kind of bullies and toxic people. At this point, the company has to take a stand or else, it will continue to lose its reputation and talents that it has worked so hard to build up. All it takes are a few bad apples to ruin an entire batch of fresh apples. Don't forget that the people who leave the company go on to bigger and better things and as long as Ayzenberg has these toxic people within its company, those people who have left and are working with other brands/companies Will Not come back and work with Ayzenberg on future business. All they will remember of Ayzenberg are the existence of these toxic people.

I worked at Ayzenberg full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are some people in this office who are genuine and want you to succeed. Your experience is heavily dependent on your account, which will impact who your team members are. As a smaller company, there are a lot of opportunities for growth, and you can be rewarded with big raises if you work hard. There were some difficult times during my time at Ayzenberg but I thought it was a good experience overall.

    Cons

Depending on the team/account, it can be really political and there can be a lot of red tape. Senior leadership is not always in touch with what the people want. I would advise leadership to find opportunities to connect with and listen to junior staff. Teams can feel siloed off and isolated.

    Advice to Management

Find opportunities to connect with junior staff, for teams to connect more (i.e maybe showcase wins or projects once in a while), promote learning across the company. Make learning and development a priority. Make sure that everyone in the company is kept into the loop.

    Pros

Amazing building. People want to succeed. Clients roster is impressive.

    Cons

Leadership is weak. Most have been with company since it began and only know one way of working. No new ideas bubble up. You are a cog in the owners wheel who only cares about his art gallery and tech start up software division which is going nowhere.

    Advice to Management

Be nice to have a woman or person of color in management. Invest in the business, not in management salaries.

I worked at Ayzenberg full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people you work with here are largely talented and passionate. Most employees are kind and respectful. The office space is great, and in a fantastic location. Free lunch. Easy parking.

    Cons

Younger employees are taken advantage of by the higher ups and upper management, who seek to only protect themselves and their salaries. Lower level employees are denied well-deserved raises and promotions in favor of keeping things as they are. The management has no clue how to say no to clients, or know when to push back which results in insane deadlines and unforgiving hours. Some will say this is the life of an... agency, but I've worked for plenty of other agencies where this was not the case. Management frequently arrives late and leaves early, while lower level employees get stuck doing the lion's share of the actual work. Unless you're a creative or in the social media department I'd recommend staying away from this place. I'd be very surprised if it's still standing in another 10 years.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue. Know when to say no to clients and pushback in defense of your own employees. Your employees need a properly balanced life-work ratio, and they're not your workhorses to make the magic happen so you don't have to.

I worked at Ayzenberg full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free lunches, fun office space, good benefits

    Cons

Inflexible working hours, managers don’t set you up for success

    Advice to Management

Learn how to train employees better and please learn how to adjust work flow so the producers don’t have to do every single team members job. Favoritism definitely was an issue.
