    Pros

    Working at a faith-based, mission-driven university, if that is important to you (as it was to me). My boss always cared greatly about how I was doing and managed my workload very kindly. This was in the graduate admissions department.

    Cons

    The pay can be low depending on the position, but I'm sure that varies quite a bit

    Great benefits and fellow workers are nice people.

    Cons

    Everyone receives the same cost of living pay increase. No one receives merit increases. Staff salaries are low.

    -really good retirement contribution
    -can get winter breaks off depending on what department you work in

    Cons

    -pay is usually a bit lower than industry average
    -not a lot of room for career growth
    -evangelical culture can be tough to adjust to if you're not used to it

    Not as much diversity as you would find elsewhere. Modest salaries for staff. Much better for faculty.

    Higher salaries will result in less turnover
