    Pros

Company with good benefits and like other Pharma type Medical has great benefits and 401 k retirement like other companies.

    Cons

The FDA warning letter is getting the labor force to work with a high risk because of the high demand of the products and the managers do not walk in the floor and this leads to accidents and procedures not followed or documented properly and it continues this behavior for the past five years and the general manager has been changed because he last one did not Adress on time the emergency or urgency of doing production but at a high risk or GMP non interest from the management.
The management says we will follow the procedures but they don’t go to the floor to see if the documents are being followed properly and then the management tries to be like Hitler and do not observe that the machines do not have spare parts and not enough work force employees and people have not been substitute or replaced once somebody leaves.
    Or train new resources,
Definitely investing the money is not profitable if you don’t watch over your business or parts needed for documents being done correctly or just saying thank you to your employees once things are achieve correctly without being in your desk asking for your people to do things when you are there to serve them and then your people will gladly service you.
The structure needs a full new organization and people needs to be cleaned out of the house with old mentality.

I have been working at B. Braun Medical full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity to learn and room for mistakes.

    Cons

It's not a place to build a career. Dated systems and machinery. C'mon Lotus Notes as an e-mail client!??!?!?! Good luck getting access to systems, your welcome package means finding your own computer, your own desk and figuring out who is supposed to be responsible for what.

    Advice to Management

You need dough to make the bread. Management needs to quit being pennywise. Maintenance is constantly allowed to order parts late and ship them same day to save their own skin. Machine reliability is a joke.

Please, invest in your future, unless you plan on selling off the land. Focus on long term solutions, not just short term solutions and bandages. Need a SOP, good luck finding it and good luck finding any useful information in it. The baby boomer staff won't teach you, as they retire and leave the rest to fend for themselves.

Oh yeah, if you are in leadership, spend some time on the manufacturing floor. Nobody knows who you are, we only know about the mandatory 6-7 days a week.

I have been working at B. Braun Medical full-time

    Pros

    You get a pay check

    Cons

Integrity issues, complaince issues, management is all about numbers not quality. Manditory overtime even when you’re salary . Work All Holidays even Christmas and Thanksgiving, no employee appreciation. Pretty close to being a sweat shot with decent pay and benefits.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your employees and not only on your so called employee appreciation meeting. These people are working hard! They deserve Holidays off with their family just like senior management! Hire senior management who actually has industry experience so quality can improve! They have a ton of opening because there is a huge turn over.

I have been working at B. Braun Medical full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Some new leadership at the Irvine Site are trying to make changes.
The FDA has their target on us, hopefully they will act soon to keep customers safer from leaking product with microbial ingress (Consent Decree Please).
We aren't in Puerto Rico anymore so we can still make you IV bags unlike Baxter, thanks Baxter :D

    Cons

VP level leadership still incapable of strategic planning.
VP leadership only focused on getting product out the door, quality leader included.
Recent backlog of discrepant/deviations reached over 10 million units.
4 out of our 7 products are more than 30 years old, they are made with archaic machines, un-validate grand father processes and design with 1970's or 1980's materials and technology. We have machines as old as AMC Gremlins.

    Advice to Management

B.Braun Board - Replace VPs , under leadership Irvine has gone through 3-4 Quality Directors, received 4 consecutive years of 483 followed by a Warning Letter. She and Corporate Quality forced corporate procedure across all sites with little or no plans to align the individual site quality orgs to be capable of implementing said changes. Also the corporate quality group modified many processes with out change control.

I have been working at B. Braun Medical full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity for growth and development. Family oriented, stable, and convenient location by LVI airport. The Allentown site has been growing in sales even with the difficulties currently at the California site.

    Cons

Behind on the times in terms of technology. Although sales are growing B Braun needs to improve market brand. There is more opportunity for growth that the lack of technology hinders. (ie electronic systems).

    Advice to Management

Align and standardize all facilities. Get Germany on-board to further support to USA to comply to FDA regulations and standards.

    Pros

    good pay and time off

    Cons

repetitive, bad communication, false sense of room for advancement

    Advice to Management

    - listen to your employees more especially when trying to solve problems. People that don't do the job, should do the job/understand the job or work with someone who does if trying to improve it.

    - Work on communication in the whole building/company. A lot of updates go unnoticed by employees

    - Give your employees that apply for a different position a chance. I personally applied for 3 technician positions before I left since I felt like I would never get the opportunity to advance.

    Cons

Management has no idea what they are doing. Paperwork is too hard for them to do. No one wants to be the one in charge on paper.

    Advice to Management

None.., they already know what to do. But they won't.
