I have been working at B. Braun Medical full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people are nice on a personal basis. The general atmosphere is low pressure because base business is sustaining rather than improving.

    Cons

There have been many reorganizations, each worse than the last. This site might have crossed a point of no return for the foreseeable future.

    Advice to Management

I worked at B. Braun Medical (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Co-Workers Friendly and Knowledgeable
    Executive Team Leads with Integrity
Good Work and Personal Life Balance

    Cons

Mid-Level Mangers are power-hungry and friendships with direct reports equaling a sort of nepotism especially in IT
HR completely clueless and will not help women IT members with issues on intimidation tactics by East Indian mangers; no matter how many women have claimed harassment
B.Braun Germany always seems to have the last say even if it is not good business sense at B.Braun US
Continually promotes yes-men instead of truthful people who have the the company's best interest in mind

    Advice to Management

Get your IT house in order; see how IT management treats women and is brutish and condescending to all lower level IT employees. Just take a look at how many people have quit in IT in past 8 years and reason why they left.
You can save money by outsourcing HR department - it is truly the worst HR department I have ever seen.

    Cons

Too much politics, large work load, unskilled management in some areas

    Advice to Management

Hire knowledgeable people, not friends and family

I worked at B. Braun Medical full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Irvine facility has a park with its own pond with turtles, fish, and rabbits.
    2. You can put on your resume that you have pharmaceutical, and medical device experience (since the company is technically both).
    3. There are many humble people so you'll make good friends and lasting memories here.
    4. on-site nurse.
    5. 3/4 schedule available, night shift available, and 4/10s schedule available.
    6. Bonuses available to everyone, although your percentage will vary.
    7. Culture follows standard operating procedure like bibles.
    8. three times your hourly wage if you work on a holiday.

    Cons

    1. If you are the hardest working, you probably will not get promoted. Management cannot afford to fill the void you will leave. Also promotions will go towards others since it's better to "give the baby his/her bottle."
    2. While there are a lot of humble people, there are even more that are uncooperative. You will find yourself wondering how Person A ever got hired/promoted to his position now.
    3. Political moves from different business units, it is as if we are not on the same team: Competition among each other foster an unfriendly environment.
    4. Kick off meetings about what management wants to improve. Within a year, those original meeting attendees have jumped ship. Time to start the same kick off meeting with a new set of people.
    5. Lack of communication from management.

    Advice to Management

    1. B.Braun culture uses the term "under the bus" too often. Enforce "see it, own it, do it!"
    2. Promote those who truly deserve it, not to stop certain bad eggs from whining.
    3. Cut down on wasteful things such as the yearly Christmas cards. You are paying five 6 figure salary upper upper management to sign cards mailed to our homes, which goes to the trash can upon opening. Instead, have these individuals walk the manufacturing line and engage us. Show us that you care about your products and employees.
    4. You 'hear' but you do not 'listen' to the feedback from exit interviews.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at B. Braun Medical full-time

    Pros

There are bonuses and the health insurance is very good.

    Cons

There is no work-life balance. This place is run without actual knowledge of inventory or customer need. Workers were forced to give up holidays and weekends only to have to destroy 48% of the product afterwards because the products expired. There is no planning or realistic timelines. There is no care for life outside of work. You never know when you are going to be able to leave for the day and you have to give up a lot of weekends. (Working weekends and holidays was never mentioned during the interview process.) Morale is very low because management has no regard for giving employees time off to spend with their families. If you want to take a quick break in between working, you better not be seen in the cafeteria taking a drink or you'll be told about it. I've never worked for a company that was so out of touch with real life.

    Advice to Management

Pull yourselves together and realize that there is life outside of work. Your employees work better for you when they are well rested and happy. Working 6-7 days a week will only burn your employees out and force them to find employment somewhere else. If you would like to keep your good employees, learn to run your facility in a proper manner. Most of your employees are already seeking new employment opportunities. It's a shame. This could be a great place to work with the right management involved.

I have been working at B. Braun Medical full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There is plenty room for advancement and they like to promote from within. Health insurance benefits are fantastic. 15 paid days of vacation a year to start.

    Cons

Base salary is not all that good in any position. They do hold on to poor employees and let great employees walk right out of the door

    Advice to Management

Stop catering to individuals who do not know how to do their job. Hire individuals who know what their doing and want what is best for the company.

    Advice to Management

Clean house with all the old timers that accomplish very little year after year.
