    Pros

Good place to start out as a college hire. Good learning experience. You will make a lot of friends with fellow new hires.

    Cons

Tech stack is very behind(10 years). Large amounts of time being bored or doing mundane tasks. Stagnant/Low pay. Lots of favoritism, which means your "higherups" aren't selected based on talent. Prefer seniority over skills. Lots of young people leave after a couple of years. Very bad management, Losing contracts left and right, taking on contracts that no one wants.

    Advice to Management

Give young people more incentive to stay. Retain your superstars, it seems all the superstars leave for better opportunities.

    Pros

Large and profitable they will always be around

    Cons

Slightly racist you have to be in the popular crowd to excel.

I worked at BAE Systems USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The engineers are bright, hard-working individuals and good people overall.
Lots of variety in work projects.

    Cons

Heavy favoritism - if you're not one of management's pets, you're scapegoated.
Some old-timers at the company think nothing of throwing their coworkers under the bus (probably just to survive).
Company keeps taking various perks away from employees.
Far too much "do as I say, not as I do" in some groups, and not enough "lead by example".

    Advice to Management

Don't just pay lip service to being concerned about things like work-place bullying and diversity. Actually DO something about it.

I worked at BAE Systems USA full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company. Great benefits package. Above average salaries.

    Cons

Employment is conditional. When contracts ends, employees are not easily moved to other "open" positions, instead, forced to leave the company and reapply for open positions.

    Advice to Management

Upper and middle management is the worst I've seen to date. In my experience, almost every manager I've had to deal with have consistently shown a lack of empathy for lower level employees. Fix this.

I have been working at BAE Systems USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great potential, large facility with 65,000 ton dry dock.

    Cons

Local work force is small and untrained.

    Advice to Management

Sell the yard to commercial company that can invest in the equipment and quality people.

I have been working at BAE Systems USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity to travel if you're open to relocating.

    Cons

There's not much room for training or any incentives to further your education.

    Advice to Management

Gain a sense of independence and not use the words of your bosses as the final say-so.

I have been working at BAE Systems USA (More than a year)

    Pros

    Some employees were very nice.

    Cons

Not an organized work environment. Most of my coworkers said that they did not like working at BAE Systems and solely have stayed there because they had not found anything better in the area. My coworkers who had been working there for 10+ years warned me of the high school-like drama that occurs in the work place between coworkers. My boss was not clear about specific tasks he asked me to complete, so at times it would be very frustrating to try to complete tasks.

    Pros

Profit bonuses are available for upper-level management. Otherwise, it's just a place to work until you find the next contract.

    Cons

In the last year BAE Systems has eliminated all health insurance options (take the bad plan or nothing), cut back on an outstanding severance benefit, and eliminated bonuses once available to lower level management. I believe they may have reduced the 401K matching also.

    Pros

    Fair pay, team atmospher

    Cons

Management or even supervisors, someone needs to be there sometimes. Management doesn't like it when you help out your coworkers. Workers need breaks.

    Advice to Management

Do your job. Manage all aspects of your office, not just half. Your workers work hard, they need and it's the law to give them breaks. Respect what they do. They work hard and give good quality work.

    Advice to Management

Talk to the employees and put definite incentive programs in effect.
