I worked at BAE Systems USA full-time

    Pros

Good pay, Flexible hours, and the benefits are outstanding.

    Cons

Management in various departments should have training for managing PEOPLE better. (Sensitivity & Communication Skills). Also this particular industry there is always a risk of getting laid off.

    Advice to Management

Implement more management training courses and also refresher training for when placing new data software. This particular place spends WAY too much money now vs when it was a "mom & pop" shipyard.

I have been working at BAE Systems USA full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good wages, decent benefits. Flexible schedule for salary personnel.

    Cons

Hard to move up unless you're in a protected class.

    Advice to Management

You've taken the diversity and inclusion too far when you move far less qualified individuals up over others just to fill your quotas.

I worked at BAE Systems USA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some very sharp people to learn from, flexible with teleworking. Lots of technology to get hands on experience with, if you have access.

    Cons

Pay, lack of bonuses and promotions. Bonuses are reserved for management and are not allocated to the worker bees appropriately.

    Advice to Management

Management mostly consisted of lifers who ran things their way, right or wrong.

I have been working at BAE Systems USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of responsibility early in your career with a great chance of advancement as the business expands.

    Cons

More work available than there are people to do it. Leadership is so focused on expanding the business at such a blistering pace without a proportional increase in hiring that a negative impact on quality is inevitable unless things change soon.

    Advice to Management

Learn when to tell the customer "no."

Thank you for comments - you are encouraged to discuss these concerns with your manager or local HR business partner. We appreciate your hard work in a such a fast pace environment.
