Pros

Company is very large and has lots of opportunities in engineering, business development and leadership. There are dedicated programs for leadership and personal development that only a large company, like BAE Systems can provide. Work in the research area (FAST Labs) was often very engaging and interesting. It's a very good place to learn and grow in the early stages of your career. Most of the people are wonderful and engaging to work with. The D&I discussions improved dramatically when I left, however managers were only required to do them twice a year and nobody checked to see if they performed them or not. Work life balance was excellent. The 9/80 work schedule was great.

Cons

A large company also means that change is much harder to implement. Trying to get IT support to setup a basic Linux server took 6 months by the time I left. Often times leadership who had barely ever set foot in our office pushed one-size-fits-all changes onto our organization that made little sense and ultimately frustrated most people. At the senior manager/director level the company is hyper-focused on rotating people into different positions every 2-3 years even if they are happy or extremely effective at their current positions. This results in a constant churn in leadership and direction in different areas of the organization which can be good but is often detrimental in several ways. This also means that you regularly find high-performing, experienced people being forced into positions that they don't like and they end up leaving the company.
