I have been working at BASF Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities exist. Almost everyone is an A or A+ person

    Cons

People are very nice, and sometimes don't want to load you with work. But a great intern experience requires good amount of high-quality work.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

You can eventually move up but that could take years and in the mean time you have to deal with a very low pay rate.

    Cons

I don't like the fact that you hire in at twelve dollars an hour. I can't support my family with that rate of pay.

    Advice to Management

You should pay people more when they first start.

    Pros

Very hard working people all around, great company culture, employees are very dedicated to their work

    Cons

Highly competitive so it can be hard to get in to the company, otherwise I have no bad experiences

I have been working at BASF Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great 12 hour shift schedule allowing for work / life balance and the pat is on par or better than other similar companies

    Cons

Structure changed towards hiring agency, no longer able to get a pension for new hires, getting used to the twelve hour shifts

I have been working at BASF Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Pay, Great People, and a very good work environment

    Cons

It depends upon the division that you are in. In my division things tend to go at a slower pace than others. But as long as you like the work and role that you are in there aren't many cons to say

I have been working at BASF Corporation as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

BASF pays well and gives you many avenues to get your foot in the door.

    Cons

No paid vacation or holidays for contract employees. Responsibilities quickly become "capped". Would like to be able to do more.

I have been working at BASF Corporation as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

My team and my boss were very nice people. There was little supervision, and I had multiple projects to work on, and could work on what I was most interested in. Flexible hours. Love the culture at the company.

    Cons

Its a large company, so you can easily get lost under the radar. I was not offered an interview position for a full-time job after graduation, even though I attend one of the "core schools" they hire from, and my boss wrote a good recommendation letter.

I have been working at BASF Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, easy work and some work very little.

    Cons

Not very good raises or bonuses. Get the salary you want before you get hired!! Bonuses equal a 2 week check!

    Advice to Management

Your REWARDS and RECOGNITION program means take care of your employees, not yours!

I have been working at BASF Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Big company Now are hiring diverse candidates

    Cons

Because they did not hire diversity in the past they are now forced to hire diversity, where the candidate might not be the best but mangers have too hire.
Firing or creating soft landings for white males like crazy to boost diversity numbers

    Advice to Management

Hire the best candidate no matter who they are....

    Pros

Little accountability from upper management gives you freedom to develop your business which is good and bad

Lot's of employee engagement items and lunches

    Cons

Process and accountability needs to be developed. Because the chemical industry is very profitable you can make mistakes and still do well

Merits are down and bonuses are delayed for 2016

    Advice to Management

Hold people accountable and do not promote based dog, pony or safety gate shows, but on merit. Spend more money on R&D, Maintenance and not on employee lunches and cheap give aways
