    Positive Outlook

I worked at BAX Global full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The management was engaged with the leadership staffing. The often sought to understand current state to better plan for future state.

    Cons

The 2nd tier and 3rd tier leadership was not fully engaged with the ground level folks that were getting the job done. Process development was not always user / operator friendly.

    Advice to Management

Be more engaged with the 2nd and 3rd tier leaders. Focus on operator friendly solutions and be honest.

    Pros

Some of the best Supervisors in the industry. At the entry level, they will work with you on any issue you may have to help you out. The job is different every day and the variety is one of the best things about the job.

    Cons

The higher you go in management at the Toledo HUB, the further management gets from connecting and understanding what is going on. There is a real disconnect with upper managements vision on paper and how the perform.

    Advice to Management

too little too late .... be persistant and walk your own walk. Serve the company, not yourself.

    Pros

Good benefits for a part time job. Pays like a full time job. Is good for people who are going to school

    Cons

Most of the job positions are third shift so it is hard to make other parts of your life work around your job. It is hard work and sometimes stressful.

    Advice to Management

Need to let workers take more time off for being sick or if they have a doctor note it should be excused and no punishment for being sick. If someone needs to be in the hospital for a month they cant do that at BAX because they dont offer enough sick days or vacation days.

    Pros

BAX Global is a decent company to work for, if youre looking for excellent people and a very laid back atmosphere. The people are the biggest asset. The other major benefit is the fact that the stress level is relatively low, and one can manage a happy work /life balance. They are also pretty flexible with your schedule, and no one seems to work more than 40 hours there....

    Cons

The ridiculously low pay if youre in any type of analytical capacity - the key account sales people ( not regular sales people) make a decent salary in the 6 figure range, while the analytical folks who put together sales analysis/strategies that the key sales people use get paid sub-standard pay. Granted, the stress level is low, so I think there is some type of correlating factor that makes up for that difference. Management also does not communicate anything - a perfect example is if someone was out sick for an extended period of time ( we are talking weeks here, not days) and management didnt tell ANYONE where this person was, I mean...at least let other people who work with the person know whats going on rather than just keeping tight liipped about it. Increases are abysmal - ranging from 2.5% - 3% per year ( and this is when you are doing well!!!) no profit sharing, and xmas bonuses consist of a ham or turkey.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay for the analysts if you want to hire and retain people of high caliber. Communicate more as to what the hell is going on in the company.

    Pros

The People. Most of te employees are long term that have a gret knowledge of the industry.

    Cons

The pay scale and the commission program changes quarterly

    Advice to Management

Set the commission plan on a GP basis

    Pros

You get to have company parties very often.

    Cons

That would be the high turn over of people trying to find better pay.

    Advice to Management

Send the information down to your minions that work hard to move your shipments so your company can stay alive. Sales people needs to sell and stop driving around thinking that they are selling something.

    Pros

No pros. Horrible place to work. Would be a good job, but they offer next to no hours, and management is absolutly terrible.

    Cons

The decision making of management at every turn. Work out in the elements no matter the conditions. Its not worth coming in some days because this plummenting company has no work to do, and kicks us out.

    Advice to Management

Concentrate on the problems that effect business. There is a reason Bax is going under, and its the fault of management. Rather than getting more business for the company, they micromanage every situation to show superiers they are needed, when they clearly are not.
