I have been working at BAYADA Home Health Care part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing support team in the office and great Area Director. Flexible hours because schedule your own patients. Fulfilling work, I love seeing my patients.

    Cons

Only gave me 4 days of training in the field, then I was on my own. Lots of on the job training, but can be scary since you're dealing with people's healthcare, it's not the best OTJ training atmosphere! OASIS suuuuucks, it's so tedious and annoying.

    Advice to Management

Need a more comprehensive training program. For those who are new to home health, there are a lot of differences. I feel badly when I have to call the office constantly.

I have been working at BAYADA Home Health Care full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Client Services Managers (scheduling) are SO efficient and accommodating, enabling the RN to provide the best care to clients. The Case Managers are capable and supportive, and have a thorough knowledge base. Educational and training support is enthusiastic, encouraging and readily available, proactive. Director is knowledgeable, supportive and creates great environment. Clients interesting, challenging and very rewarding!

    Cons

Pay reasonable, less than hospital but far less stress and politics and far more rewarding.

    Advice to Management

I hear not every office is as smooth as this one. It should be acknowledged, and rewarded...The office staff you report to and get needed support from, makes all the difference in recruitment of good field staff. I hope there is a reward system, this staff should be acknowledged.

    Pros

Great clients and you have the ability to work whatever shift you want. This is a very flexible job.

    Cons

horrible communication, also a lot of the program that are offered are hard to get into/ be apart of. Also be prepared to be never be given advancement opportunities. I worked at Bayada throughout my college career.and went on to get a masters ( 5 years total). despite talking to upper management several times, they would rather hire from outside than promote employees. after years of working there i was never seen as anything more than a CNA. If you start out in any lower level position expect to stay there.

Staffing & Billing Honest practices. Fast faced. You will be busy. If you have passion in home care staffing you will be okay. I tell everyone if you have passion to do this work go for it, if not think on your passion.

    Cons

This is a tough industry. Pay is lower scale. Degree will not be used. Again you have to have passion for this work.

    Advice to Management

Delegate cases better. Also, If you see your employees are doing a good job. Mentor them better.

The work is hard and can be frustrating but the company culture is strong and encouraging. The pay is fair and rewards those that work hard.

    Cons

As with any large company, bureaucracy can be a drag in getting things changed or improved. But overall, good place to work.
