I have been working at BB&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a very large organized and efficient company. They are very customer focused and invest a great deal into info security and privacy. The benefits and compensation are competitive.

    Cons

There is a philosophy that consistent overtime and weekend work is an acceptable standard. There is an extreme lack of esprit de corps.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to take a hard look at the people skills of their managers. A task master is not a good leader. Management also needs to be more consistent with their on-boarding procedures. I've been here for 4 months and I have not had a 30/60/90 day review.

    Pros

One of the better performing, stable banks. Concerned about having the best employees. Benefits are good, sick time and vacation policies are good..

    Cons

Lack of communication from upper management on key issues. Salary levels should be raised to be in line with national averages, and rasies should be more than they are.

    Advice to Management

Work on communicating corporate strategy to lower level personnel, and work to get compensation in line with the rest of the nation.

    Pros

Business Ethics are sound. They have not gotten in hot water like other banks who made questionable, risky loans.

    Cons

Some the managers are great and some are micromanagers. Alot of IT jobs are being outsourced to India.

    Advice to Management

The quality of work of jobs being outsourced is not as good as you think it is.
