    Cons

If you are in a call center, the corporate atmosphere is very "Walk on eggshells" to maintain your position.

    I worked at BB&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

BB&T purchased National Penn Bank in 2016. As with any transition there were positives and negatives. The people in the organization were very nice and helpful. The company treated the National Penn staff whose positions were eliminated very well and fairly. They provided a good severance package and outplacement assistance.

    Cons

BB&T is very functionally driven. Often employees in different functions asked for the same data and in other cases they were not on the same page. In addition, most of their staff was task focused and often didn't consider their impact beyond their line of sight. All good people trying to do the right thing and a good job, but not experienced or driven to think broadly. This is not uncommon when working in a large company who is growing quickly.

    Advice to Management

As the company grows, invest in leadership that fosters cross functional collaboration, communication, and accountability.

    Pros

    Great Co-Workers
    Benefits are amazing!
    Salary is decent
    Vacation and sick time

    Cons

Company tends to be short staffed
    Work one Saturday a month
    Expect a lot from tellers
    Multi tasking is a must
    Clients can be rude

    Advice to Management

Hire adequate staff according to business of branch, not based on numbers
Use automatic answering system for phones instead of expecting tellers to answer them. (This looks awful when a teller is helping a client and has to stop to answer the phone)
