    Pros

This is a solid financial bank to work for if you want a career in banking. The executive management team is very down to earth and is concerned about the culture of the company.

    Cons

There is more need for advanced technology and there should be more women and diversity in the executive level of the company.

    Pros

Strong culture of a values driven organization. Strong CEO leadership, with open lines of communication on a regular basis with employees.

    Cons

Sales goals removed from all branch employees except the Market Leader/Branch Manager. Cannot hold your team accountable for results, only behaviors, yet if results aren't there for the branch it must be your fault for not have strong behavioral leadership.

    Advice to Management

Rethink your sales goals structure for branch employees. Stop rash decision making to satisfy regulators. Rank performance of your teams and reward accordingly.

I have been working at BB&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Wonderful retirement plan. Good 401k and defined benefit pension plan.

Senior Management makes an effort to connect with employees through video series, surveys, Q&A

    Compensation is fair

Very supportive of community involvement either individually or corporate sponsored.

Company is in favor of work-life balance (generally).

Telecommute opportunities are available for certain roles

    Cons

Large company problems (heavily silo'd, lots of red tape when trying to get things done)

Lagging behind in the implementation of internal technology

Compensation increases are often mediocre so you'll need to be promoted or move around a bit to get sizable pay raises. It's difficult for managers to truly reward high performers.

    Advice to Management

You've done a great job leading us through a very difficult banking environment for the past 8-10 years. Please continue to adopt new technologies for internal uses so that we can live out the core values of the bank.
