    I worked at BB&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many exceptional leaders at the Branch Manager (Market Leader) position, a fantastic company culture, ethical practices, beautiful branches, quality customers.

    Cons

Acquisitions have diluted the quality employees and created a dysfunctional cultural mix between what once was BB&T organically, and is now a hodgepodge of over 10 former banks rolled into one firm.

    Advice to Management

Need to hire a more energetic and enthusiastic LEADER at the CEO helm, then stop buying up other banks and ruining the customer and employee experience.

    I worked at BB&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Workflow and benefits are wonderful, salary was worth the drive. Great atmosphere and nice perks as an associate. No other pros

    Cons

Terrible training and management. When I first started I was told I had 20 sick days but my department only allowed 10 days, I was fired for using unpaid time off, and according to BB&T policy, associates can only use unpaid time off if there is no available vacation time and/or sick time.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and stand behind when they are in the right. Provide better training for new hires

I worked at BB&T (More than a year)

    Pros

Best reason to work here at Bb&t is the fact that you get a free account. Second reason is the starting hourly wage.

    Cons

I didn't like the fact that I was sent to different branches every other week. We were always short staffed.

    Advice to Management

Try to show your associates that you appreciate their hard work. Offer to repay the gas that was used to go to other branches.

    Pros

Set schedule, health care benefits, meeting and interacting with the clients from all walks of life. Having every holiday off. Good sales strategy.

    Cons

Low pay, discrimination towards men. It's ok for women to call off sick, but men are held at a higher standard. AOO'S show favoritism at times. No breaks, limited staffing at EVERY branch.

    I worked at BB&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A recognized name within the financial industry. Excellent employee benefits. Convenient locations for customers throughout the East Coast and Southern States. If you are willing to relocate south, there are lots of employment opportunities.

    Cons

BB&T acquired the small "hometown" bank that I worked for and it lost that community feel.
    Excessive fees to customers.

    Advice to Management

When you purchase another bank and it's call center employees, make sure you give them the proper training and tools needed to successfully do their job. Give them the impression that you value their contribution to the company and want them to succeed.
