I have been working at BB&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Holidays off, Health Insurance is good.

    Cons

Management is poor in the department I work in, expected to be at the office during bad weather even when the rest of the bank is closed.

I have been working at BB&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Well established institution w/ over 140 years of banking experience. Survived several recessions and is still growing. Making moves to be more tech savvy.

    Cons

Too much red tape to make changes to stay in the forefront of the industry from personal banking, to payments.

    Advice to Management

Stop hindering change! It is inevitable. Make change easy, simple, fast. Isn't that supposed to be the new motto?

I have been working at BB&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I like the staff and the management. Training is organized. An early career start for a recent graduate who is still trying to figure out what they want to do.

    Cons

Overall the pay is not worth the rude customers. You are told you can grow within the company but it seems like they want to keep you in the customer service career path

    I worked at BB&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Workflow and benefits are wonderful, salary was worth the drive. Great atmosphere and nice perks as an associate. No other pros

    Cons

Terrible training and management. When I first started I was told I had 20 sick days but my department only allowed 10 days, I was fired for using unpaid time off, and according to BB&T policy, associates can only use unpaid time off if there is no available vacation time and/or sick time.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and stand behind when they are in the right. Provide better training for new hires

    Cons

Management with direct employees should be monitored closer to ensure they are abiding by BBT core values.

    Pros

Bank Holidays in addition to regular holidays (except for Easter); with the right attitude and knowledge there is growth potential. Large company with excellent senior management in place and lots of room for continued growth for the company.

    Cons

As the bank grows thru mergers, the workforce positions are being streamlined and or shifted to other areas to make the bank more efficient to handle the increased client growth which could lead to loss of job thru reduction in force measures.

    Pros

pay was good, they needed to pay more to attract talent due to location

    Cons

Management is stuck back in the 70's, some are very Draconian
The real problem here is upper Management only talks to Management (it's like asking the Chef how the soup tastes) They need to get honest and open feedback from he employees, without fear of reprisals.
Aslo, Wilson NC is in the middle of nowhere, 45 minutes from RDU airport on a good day
Also, in Wilson you will be working in an enclosed compound inside windowless workspaces

    Advice to Management

You need to get honest and open feedback from he employees, without fear of reprisals.
While your Manager(s) may be *making their numbers* did you notice the revolving door for employees>
