    Great

    Pros

Awesome place. I like it. It's the people who work here that make it great and how BBDO is still a proud place to be at.

    Cons

Like any other ad agency, the hours. But we're all about the work, the work, the work. Wish we had more company outings though.

    As Expected

    Pros

    - Recognizable agency name with a notable legacy in advertising - People are creative and super smart (mostly) - Central Filing bar (awesome if you're a social drinker) - Decent New York office location (if you like varied lunch options and multiple subway lines in Midtown Manhattan) - In-office hours can be flexible (with certain managers)

    Cons

    - If not careful, it's easy to become marginalized by working on one team with one brand for the entirety of your time there - Difficult to be promoted if you're not well known by management - Difficult to receive a significant raise if teams can't justify budget - Difficult to move across departments, teams or brands if your interests change - Office open floor plan can be distracting and offers zero privacy - Office windows do not open; there is literally no fresh air circulating - HR is non-existent. Team is totally overwhelmed and shockingly understaffed, given how large both BBDO and Omnicom are

Was a good place to work that paid low salaries

    Pros

The people (non management) were great and everyone got along very well (this could be because of the bar in the office). It started to feel like a family.

    Cons

Compensation was not competitive with the industry average. When requesting a simple cost of living increase, was denied. Moved on to another agency because received a MUCH larger compensation package to do a very similar job.

A great company going through some really rocky times!

    Pros

The people were great and very friendly. There is no brick wall between the employees and senior management. I knew them all quite well, even on a personal level. When good work is done, it is recognized (just verbally).

    Cons

Good/hard work is rarely rewarded financially. Sometimes the company cares waaaay too much about the bottom line, and not the quality of respect due to employees. Seems like the holding company has a little too much power over the company, considering it was highly rewarded and performed up to par in the given times.

Great place to work if you love advertising

    Pros

BBDO has some really interesting clients that provides their employees with a wide range of experience if they're able to move around accounts. The people are great and it's one of the reasons I loved working there. If you're interested in Creative, Strategy, Production and Account Management, you can really develop your skillset and work with some amazing talent at BBDO. BBDO knows there are areas of opportunity and they're trying to improve.

    Cons

The agency is trying to improve and be better. However, there is still a lot of work to do. There has been a lot of turnover this year, which is something a lot of other companies are also experiencing. But, they should apply more of their time on developing people and creating better retention plans. The lack of performance reviews affected promotions and salary increases, which is a big reason why people left the agency.

A great opportunity to build connections if you ever want to more around in this industry which is what most people do.

    Cons

There are senior level creatives that wants to feed off other creative minds when they burn out. You really have to hustle to work with different clients. For some, the school you went to is a big factor when they want to consider who they want to work with. If you went to a community college you really had to work hard.
