    Pros

Quality clothing, easy floorsets, easy to make sales goals if you like selling and styling.

    Cons

Employee discount 30% off retail price, no discount on sale priced items. High price points-- low hrly pay-- see where Im going with this? A pt associate would have to work 40 hrs to buy one dress.

    Advice to Management

Scratch off should be thrown around like confetti at store visits. Wearing it, sells it.

    Pros

Admiring the stylist who had many years of experience and the relationships with their clients was undeniably something to respect.

    Cons

Very poor stock support. Was difficult having to be on the sales floor, cater to various clients, attend fitting rooms, check out clients and have virtually nobody in the stock room to help with stock checks. This company doesn't value their stock team enough.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees and create a team so people don't feel overwhelmed at work and can actually give their all in the positions they have been hired for.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

I worked at BCBG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Personally, I was able to move up within the company fairly quickly, which was great. I gained a ton of experience through moving from 2nd ASM to Store Manager in just over a year with the company. However, when I started in 2013 the company was better off than it is now.

    Cons

Well, let's just say there is a reason only 18 percent of store managers would recommend to a friend. You really don't get any support from higher management at all. It is next to impossible to terminate people who aren't a good fit, people who don't show up or call in constantly, and even people who STEAL FROM THE COMPANY don't technically get terminated, because the company doesn't want to be liable.

They cut payroll so much that floorsets are being executed during business hours or just not fully executed because you can't put enough people on to help, so yourself and maybe one other salaried manager are stuck doing the work of 6 or more people. This company basically ties your hands behind your back with everything, then expects sales to be high, shrink to be low, visuals to be flawless, etc. And when you try and explain your issues, all they do is give you a bunch of reasons why it's your fault.

I'm all for accountability, but there is a difference between holding people accountable and blaming them for things that they cannot control. There is a reason why when I moved out of state, I had zero desire to even try and transfer to a different location in the company.

If you're considering a management position for BCBG, my advice is to look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Support your people. Listen to their frustrations without acting like you don't have time to hear about them. Pay your employees what they are worth. Or else you will keep on losing the best people you've had.

    Pros

Great sales experience, if you have a good team they're constantly looking out for you and encouraging you to reach your goals. Access to the latest fashion you will learn a lot about garments construction and styling the right pieces for the right body types. Plus you can't beat that employee discount!

    Cons

The store is crazy during holiday season and everything gets unorganized quickly. This is a retail position so coworkers are not the most professional. Unfortunately you will meet the 30 something's who discourage you from being agressive and pursuing bigger and better things. Another huge con - having to wear heals. Sorry but it's 2016 and wearing heals during an 8 hour shift is ridiculous please expect my orthopedic bills paired with tons of law suits within the next 10 years. Employees should also receive free clothes if you want is to have the BCBG "look". Even with the discount the expectation to wear the brand is ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

Take time to listen to your associates. If an item is hideous ask for their feedback - we know our clients better than you do.

I worked at BCBG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good resume builder, good discounts, good opportunity to network (the turnover is high so there's a strong chance you will meet people who move onto other companies). Try to make good connections with your co-workers and keep in touch, you would be surprised what those relationships can lead you to.

    Cons

The work environment is cut throat and intimidating- think 'The Devil Wears Prada'. People quit every week and there is a lot of crying in the office. Sometimes people are driven to insanity and do crazy things like quit on the spot, or yell at their manager in front of everyone. Most people only last a year.

    Advice to Management

Fire everyone and start over. There's no hope haha.

Great team in my department. Was vibrant environment when I began. The expansion was aggressive and challenging.

    Cons

Lots of turn over of good talent that made continuity sometimes challenging. they never made the appropriate investment to the corporate campus.

    Advice to Management

Create environment that fosters better cooperation between differrent departments. Spend some money to create a corporate campus comenserate to the brand.
