I worked at BCD Travel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Nothing
    It is horrible
    It’s a scam
Don’t make the same mistake I did.

    Cons

I didn’t even start the job. It is a fraud. They send me a check to buy a equipment and the bank said it was a fraud check. I could’ve gotten so much trouble with my bank. I can’t beleive this company is a scam and don’t fall for it.

    Advice to Management

You should be ashame of yourself.

I have been working at BCD Travel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company culture and travel benefits are great! Even if workload gets tough the day is still pleasant because of the type of people you work with. Having the option to work from home along with flexible management creates a great work life balance. Unfortunately, reviews of poor balance seem to come from call center type of roles, rather than corporate.

    Cons

Health insurance is on the skimpy side. Everything is so laid back that it can be too laid back sometimes. While there is strong senior leadership, team managers could be more hands on with mentoring & career development.

    Advice to Management

Great leaders create more great leaders. Invest time in career development.

I worked at BCD Travel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work from home for most roles

    Cons

They have a focus on hiring and promoting women over men - they even boast about it in Forbes. The result is that men are being fired, not hired and not promoted. Additionally, the salaries are 25 - 50% below what you would get for the same role outside the Travel Industry.

    Advice to Management

I strongly suggest former BCD employees file a class action discrimination lawsuit if the Company does not adjust it's bias policies.

I worked at BCD Travel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good work environment and people

    Cons

The pay is consistently below market rate.

Executive employees spend thousands and maybe millions in week-long company retreats and meetings across European countries that combine work and fun.

I cannot understand why a company would spend money and people’s time at such retreats and meetings. As an employee, I am not in the business of creating playful activities nor providing dinners at expensive European restaurants or focusing on things that don’t drive fundamental and objective productivity of the company. It's more like the executive staff are trying to find excuses to have some expendable vacation time.

The team members are adults with families and interacting (breakfast, lunch, and dinner for four nights) with other folks they usually wouldn’t spend time with is odd and a complete waste of company funds.

    Increase salary rates instead.

I have been working at BCD Travel full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Culture, Manager, Reputation, Flexibility, Training

    Cons

Salary is way low, workload is high, and central support areas need overhaul

    Advice to Management

Be aware of market conditions - leaders work hard and are underpaid and benefits are only OK, not great
