I have been working at BCG Digital Ventures full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

We are building products utilising the latest technologies then launching them as startups. If working on the forefront of tech interests you then this is the place you need to be.
The pace is fast and exciting, there is definitely ambiguity to navigate so you have to be comfortable with that.
Your work mates are at the top of their game in engineering, design, growth and product so you have to want to push yourself and learn.
Room for you to be creative and take responsibility.
    Good promotional paths.

    Cons

Workload can peak at times but there is flexibility to manage this.
Having a startup mindset and teaming that with corporates can throw up challenges

I have been working at BCG Digital Ventures full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is by far one of the most dynamic, collobrative, and innovative places I have ever been a part of. The people here are all incredibly talented and all come from extremely diverse backgrounds (startups, consulting, business school, etc.) We get to be a part of building new businesses no matter what cohort you are in. Definitely learning a ton and am excited to continue to grow and move upwards in company . Amazing benefits help keep people happy, but I would say the people and the mission of the company are the key players in retaining employee

    Cons

sometimes the workload is intense and therefore the work hours can be long

Visionary company. Best of both a start up and investment firm. Fun place to work. I don’t understand why glass door forces to write more words then needed.

    Cons

Hard to get into. They need to have more healthy food he snacks are great but healthy food for all would be good.

I worked at BCG Digital Ventures full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Competitive compensation and benefits
    - Provide individuals with ability to travel the world on company dime

    Cons

    - Focus on perception, optics and ego rather than adding value to corporate partners
    - Leadership lacks integrity
    - Masculine culture, watch out if you aren’t part of the “boys club”

    Advice to Management

Completely overhaul BCGDV partner and functional leadership. The partnership is dysfunctional.

I have been working at BCG Digital Ventures full-time

    Pros

Great mentorship opportunities! The company places a huge emphasis on mentorship and career development.

Clients/projects are incredible. Subject matter and products created are truly unique and innovative. Always working with/in the latest technology.

    Fast-paced – small/agile – multi-disciplinary – approach to problem-solving.

Satisfaction in seeing an idea evolve into a full-blown company.

    Cons

The company sometimes uses promises of promotions to get people/ teams to perform, this trickles down and can result in overworking those below the director level.

Design and engineering are sometimes treated as production workers and not thought-partners (it all depends on who your project leaders are).

Navigating staffing and performance-reviews can be difficult. If you want to be successful here, you need to build relationships with those who can staff you and advocate for you.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to uniquely tailor the performance review process for each discipline.

Focus on hiring creative thinkers and training them to consult, rather than hiring consultants and training them to think creatively. DV tends to hire people at the peak of their careers – hiring entry-level workers that are hungry to perform and career-end thinkers/experts would increase diversity and reinforce commitment to mentorship.
