    Pros

Good pay. They seem to be pretty competitive in regards to this. That's pretty much it.

    Cons

12 hour shifts, extremely high turnover resulting in extremely high overtime hour which seem to always become mandatory.

    Advice to Management

Maybe treat people better. Good pay isn't everything.

I have been working at BD full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Dynamic culture, leadership is sensitive to market changes, good manufactuing practices with excellent products in the market, people care for their job and company's competiveness and quality of the products. New image more in tune with the needs of the customer. Allows internal movement. Strong internal training programs. Opportunities to work across busines units, colleagues tend to be very cooperative and engaging.

    Cons

Responds slow to market changes. There have been annual layoffs prior to the end of the fiscal year since I joined. Management is a mix bag, some are very good, there are also not very good managers. The culture has became very burocratic expanding the lenght of time that takes to get things done, so early planning is a good practice to handle the current duration. Processes are necessary but excessive procedures also has reduced flexibility to adapt faster to changes. It can get very hard to be promoted. Some functions are extremely lean for the workload, and/or associates do not have enough experience to respond prompty to the demands of their role.

    Advice to Management

To seek for work-life balance of the current employees. Revisit the product life cycle and practices to obsolete old products

I worked at BD full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good resource tools provided for performing job. Pretty good benefits, although costs increasing every year. Challenging opportunities in work requirements.

    Cons

Work Life balance very demanding. Priorities were constantly changing and thus creating conflict in achieving desired goals. Short term gains were often stated as more important than long term improvements.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees at the lowest levels. Building a culture of improvement requires respect and trust at all levels. Management skills could be much improved.

I worked at BD full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It was a great company with great opportunity and some great people but things drastically changed as they transitioned with another company. There was plenty of work to be done and things were constantly changing, great for folks who are motivated and enjoy challenges.

    Cons

Just like at every job I suppose you will find some folks who are great to work with, with whom you can collaborate, learn from each other and achieve great things as a team and individually and truly feel like you've made an impact. Then you run into people who are not motivated, don't care about their jobs nor responsibilities and place roadblocks every where they can.

    Advice to Management

Developing and Keeping your Good Leaders, instead of letting them go.
