    Pros

Interesting people, did not have to show up in office every day; could use your judgment

    Cons

Nothing was ever done fast enough or good enough

    Advice to Management

Ask personnel about issues holding them back

    Pros

Everyone is super flexible, lots of PTO, generally friendly environment, good place to learn and grow

    Cons

Busy season hours and UHY vs BDO nonsense

    Advice to Management

I would advice management to conduct more "fun" events, let everyone get to know each other on a level other than "Work"- as this makes the difference between the two firms more apparent. It needs to feel like a close-knit environment much like it was before the merger.

    Pros

Lots of experience, daily meal stipend if you work over 10 hours in a day during busy season.

    Cons

Long hours, no real work life balance, you get promoted every 2 years based upon time not accomplishments and knowledge.

I worked at BDO USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing team, flexible hours (non-busy season), and great office.

    Cons

More PTO would always be nice. Busy season hours are long but to be expected working for a public accounting firm.

    Advice to Management

Spend more resources on developing talent internally/retention.

    Cons

people will dump you with work with no guidance and this place is only for a workaholics. you will find everyone in the office for long hours but actually they spend time chatting, gym and breaks and no real work.

    Advice to Management

Don't just have favorites, you will have to give everyone enough opportunities to prove themselves.

    Pros

Everyone is generally nice to work with. If you ask questions, you will get the help you need to learn and grow.

    Cons

There needs to be more staff on an engagement to provide a better allocation of workload.

    Advice to Management

Provide more rewards/incentive to retain employees. A team outing/dinner after a finishing an engagement would be nice.

    Pros

The culture and people are amazing, and you learn so much. They provide everything you need to grow in the accounting corporate world.

    Cons

Long hours with pay that's mediocre, so you really question...could you be working the same hours elsewhere...but making 20k more.

    Advice to Management

Increase annual pay to keep retention, and the more retention the less teaching new employees to refine and enhance the company's overall product they supply to consumers

    Pros

Supportive, Solid Employer with a strong emphasis on training for client facing professionals.

    Cons

Some of the usual cons that many employers have, depends on your Business Line.. that being said... there not that many cons to list.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in non-client facing individuals- training, team building and progression helps with retention and motivation.
