I have been working at BHP Billiton full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary, bonus, and benefits are generous. There are opportunities for a lot of responsibility early in your career. Managers I've worked for have been very supportive to their employees and respect their time away from work.

    Cons

International opportunities are extremely limited, and moves between onshore and offshore assets are somewhat rare. As a large company, work processes and red tape can be frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on developing talent to prepare the company to exploit more offshore opportunities.

    Pros

Amazing Culture. Leaders here walk the talk. Rare in the Oil space!
Very flexible working. Great for females.
    Pays above market rate.
Possible the best office space in Houston. Think Silicon Valley cool but even better!

    Cons

Headquartered in Australia so you may have night calls if based in the U.S.
Although the incredible flexible working culture more than makes up for it.

    Pros

Great people and great benefits. Great corporate culture. Yearly bonus was merit based so you had to work for it.

    Cons

Long hours for project delivery often tipped the scales on the work-life balance in favor of the company. Time you can't get back.

    Advice to Management

IT Leadership Team needs to act as a team instead of competing against each other for budget
