I worked at BJ's Restaurants part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Meeting new people and some tips..! Good place to work if you don’t mind speaking and upselling items on the way to seat guests. First taste tests on new items and the meal discount is reasonable.

    Cons

Super busy and slow seasons, as any place. Some servers egos can be overwhelming. And management always plays favorites of course.

    Advice to Management

Try being unbiased management personnel. Everyone wants to move up in life or so I hope why not be a little more open to communication from employees

I have been working at BJ's Restaurants part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The ability to post shifts, pick them up, swap them. The schedule is very flexible.

    Cons

Working late nights, weekends and holidays, but that is the same with any industry job. There are not many opportunities to move up or advance.

    Advice to Management

There should be more incentive to move up or advance.

    Pros

    Great fellow employees, suportive managers.

    Cons

My restaurant was in Chula Vista, CA. So the tips reflected the income level of its customers by quite a few 10 % tips, especially frustrating with large parties.
