The Schedule changes frequently. And sometimes you have to work by yourself on a crazy busy day. Not enough coverage when scheduling people

I have been working at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

people are nice and helpful...most of the inhouse brands are ok.

    Cons

not well prepared for the demos...insuffcient product availability. freezing temps for us: we are positioned near refridgeration and can't wear enough underneath. unappetizing combinations of product: solo egg whites with no seasonings or additions...tubs of coconut oul spread on toast.

    Advice to Management

if selling merchandise is paramont, then think like a restaurant and make good combos. display product in an attractive way...

    Pros

This is a good company for people who are looking for something that is flexible. The staff is willing to work with college students. They also are willing to promote from with in the company.

    Cons

Unfortunately if you are looking for a place to work full time this is not the place to be. They primarily hire part time because of the amount of students in the area.

    Pros

flexable, pay for experienced workers, 401k, medical, dental, friendly coworkers, so am around really good place for a first time person to start

    Cons

very little coverage for vacation, pay is different from department. chances of changing department is very slow. only advise corporate office gives is check your pay stubs for any changes

    Advice to Management

accept mistakes you have made, let employees move around for better coverage, don't change pay for employees that move

    I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time

    Pros

The people were great, and the free membership was nice, too. Pay was pretty good compared to the rest of the available jobs in the area.

    Cons

The hours were sometimes all over the place, so you need to, while working only part time, try and have no other jobs if you want to be available to work here.

    Advice to Management

Just the basic advice: make the hours more constant. It will help all of your employees have a more stable life, financially

I have been working at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

No rude customers to deal with, paid every week, time goes by quickly.

    Cons

The daytime managers are incompetent, I have to clean up a lot of misplaced product and empty boxes everynight which means their people are not working and the store closes at 10:00 pm, that means they have plenty of time to put stuff back and get rid of all the empty boxes, that would give me more time to stock the freezer but they don't care, overnight guys are treated poorly overall compared to other shifts.

    Advice to Management

Stop expecting full-time results from part-time employees, I'll do the work and I'll do a good job but you gotta pay me.
