I have been working at BJ's Wholesale Club full-time

    Pros

There's countless opportunities to demonstrate your skills and continue to grow professionally. Supervisors recognize those who go above and beyond. There's many opportunities to learn new skills and participate in development events. A great place to grow your careers and continue to move up the ranks.

    Cons

At times, work can feel a little unbalanced depending on what's going on at that time in the department.

I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Rewarded harder workers, while still making room for lazy workers to exceed in simpler tasks

Good culture to work in, almost all workers got along and very rarely did I observe disputes amongst them

    Cons

Dealing with customers is stressful, as depending on FLS, the customer can completely screw one over

I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good Co workers and customers

    Cons

Not enough pay or set salary/growth

    Advice to Management

Up your game a little, think about your employees as well instead of just the members. Not ALL members are right. Give promotions/pay raises once in a while.

I have been working at BJ's Wholesale Club full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Overall the compensation is good.

    Cons

Stress level of company is extremely high. Management is not supportive and often leaves employees out on an island. Feel that employees are not valued as many have left or been forced out.

    Advice to Management

Put a higher premium on happiness of employees with an emphasis on company culture. Look at the time-off to reward employees that work their tail off yet only have 10 vacation days for their first 5 years.

I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Weekly paycheck, free membership to shop

    Cons

Low morale, overbearing workload, senior management could care less, store never gets worked properly due to few workers available to cover the square footage in the club, if you want extra hours you have to be cross trained and in many positions poorly trained, if you get hurt they need you back ASAP rather than hire more people. when they hire you, expect low hours to work a week. who wants to work for 8 or 12 hour a week work weeks as a part time?

    Advice to Management

morale is crucial and in this club, it's through the ground. who wants to work in a place where the first thing they say when you start your shift is, "we have a problem". not caring about the employees well being is not a good sign.
