I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, great people, promotes from within, room for growth. BJs has an excellent culture but a poor way to convey that culture down.

    Cons

Upper management afraid to make decision to benefit the team to conform to corporate politics and be a yes man. Senior leadership quick to terminate instead of coaching and developing. Salary means hours of unpaid overtime.

    Advice to Management

Have a sense of urgency replacing open positions. Provide proper training for new team members instead of throwing a body into a role and setting them up to fail. Recognize the efforts of your team and individual contributors, you definitely did not get where you are without the help and support of many team members.
