I worked at BJC HealthCare full-time

    Pros

Working in healthcare isn't easy and often challenging. I've never been bored and challenged contstantly. Your work life balance totally depends on your manager.

    Cons

Promotion and moving up is virtually impossible unless you know the right people. Even then, BJC cares more about bottom line than their employees.

    Advice to Management

Investing in employees will yield ROIs. Less turnover, higher quality workers, and people that love to produce creates high morale. Currently morale is low in many areas.

I have been working at BJC HealthCare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

BJC offers tons of classes to take at the BJC Learning Institute which has been very beneficial.

    Cons

Once you're in a position BJC it's difficult to be promoted to another position within your area or to a different department.

    Advice to Management

Need to overlook if employee doesn't have a bachelor's degree; skill level and years of experience should be taken into consideration.

I worked at BJC HealthCare full-time

    Pros

Time goes quickly, that's about it

    Cons

The managers in this department are very immature. You get an email sent to you each & every time you make a mistake saying "Can you explain why...." instead of them just explaining to you what you should have done differently. You get into trouble for using the bathroom whether there are callers in the queue or not, and you don't always get your 15 minute break. So, basically, you just have to pee yourself, which has happened before. It's an "Old Boys Club" -- very few women work there.

    Advice to Management

Managers need to take classes or how to keep the morale up and how to treat people. Something they have no clue on!! Communication is very poor!

I worked at BJC HealthCare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very family oriented company. Encourages a strong Work/Life balance with PTO and flexible scheduling.

    Cons

Mismanagement of certain departments lead to decreases in moral and increases in frustration and a lack of productivity. Frequent management changes also contributed to the downfall.
