I have been working at BKV full-time

    Pros

Free parking (unheard of in Buckhead), 100% Company paid Medical & Dental, dog friendly, free snacks, most people can work from home one day a week. As for the work, you will always be challenged to continue to learn and grow your skill set at every level. Most people work on multiple accounts which means you will be busy, but management is also very supportive of actually having a life outside of the office. This is why most people stay at BKV despite the pay (definitely not the highest paying agency in Atlanta, but you can move up quickly and almost everyone receives an annual cost of living bump).

    Cons

The clients aren't as high profile or exciting to work on as some other agencies in the market, but you can still be creative with your work. Clients often have unrealistic expectations for their small budgets which leave some people feeling deflated and not challenged.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on bringing in better brands. Don't chase every RFP that comes across your desk and hold clients accountable for requests that go out of scope. Keep investing and rewarding your staff- even the little things go a long way!

I worked at BKV full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Near MARTA, Free parking, snacks/beverages, favorable work hours, holiday celebrations and time off. Can be a good place to learn if you already have some background knowledge and training. Somewhat known in Atlanta. Near good restaurants.

    Cons

Catty atmosphere that starts at the top, very cold figuratively and literally, extremely limited medical benefit options. If you have no experience and thin skin you will suffer badly. Training will be trial by fire and they will let you go for mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Retire already and let a more skillful and humane team take the lead. You are clueless at connecting with recent college grads and don’t have a pulse on the workplace needs of most millennials. You alienate everyone and make employees dread coming to work. I would’ve stayed if the environment was friendlier.

I have been working at BKV full-time

    Pros

Work with a diverse set of brands for clients. People at BKV are very smart. Direct response history and track record requires excellent quality work and challenges analytical thinking. You will learn a lot here.

    Cons

It is possible to find higher pay in Atlanta, but not better benefits. And you likely need BKV experience to get that higher pay.

    Advice to Management

BKV is a place where talent sharpens and learns. Do whatever it takes to keep those well honed assets.

I worked at BKV full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you are nostalgic for the feverish social climbing of middle school, you will love BKV!

Also free parking and good location.

    Cons

A breeding ground for sycophants and depression. Office structure results in constant tri-partisan conflict. And the salaries are low for the industry, too.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your new hires. Turnover is high because no one feels recognized, for their work or for who they are as just a person.

Tons of industry training, great benefits and an encouraging and supportive environment. Hard work does not go unnoticed, which can be rare to find in a company.

    Cons

    Outdated technology and office environment.

I worked at BKV full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Media department at BKV is awesome, specially the Paid Search group! Every member of the team is brilliant, willing to take on more work, and to deliver great results for clients. Upper management is all about making sure employees are happy, that they meet goals, and most importantly, they make sure you're okay on a personal level.

I learned so much in my time at BKV and that's thanks to the knowledge of the President, VPs, and Directors. Everyone has a hunger to learn more, and bring the most innovative, yet effective marketing to life. It's kind of contagious!

Danielle and Cori in HR are some of the kindest people I've ever met! Cori makes sure you're okay professionally and personally and she goes above and beyond for you if you run into any issues that may impact your career. Additionally, she doesn't quiet have a team but she answers questions the entire agency has in a timely manner and her door is always open!

    Cons

No cons really...I wish the WFH policy was a bit more lenient, but I understand why it's so strict. BKV big wigs have policies they must adhere to.
