I have been working at BMO Financial Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Compensation is pretty standard, but short term incentive pay is also offered. Benefits are good and are easy to take advantage of

    Cons

None that I can think of. I think you'll find benefits are pretty standard across the industry and BMO makes sure to adhere to that.

    Advice to Management

Make it easier for outside stakeholders to find information about Being BMO. It will help those deciding about whether or not to apply to BMO if they would be a good fit.

    Pros

    Good benefits.
    Friendly atmosphere.
Good work / life balance for the most part.

    Cons

Raises and bonuses have decreased recently.
Many layers of management and groups, make it difficult to determine who is responsible for what.
Heavy reliance on contractors, that take knowledge with them when their contract expires.

    Advice to Management

Too much management. Streamline the hierarchy

    Pros

Depending on your manager very flexible schedule and life balance

    Cons

Don't feel like the valued employee I did when starting. Few raises or bonus in the past few years although the company did very well.

    Advice to Management

Do what you can to keep employees rather than keep training new ones

I have been working at BMO Financial Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Full variety of benefits offered, infinite number of opportunities from operations, to retail banking, to management. Management and company treats the employees like they are valued to the company

    Cons

Under payed for having a college degree and very strict adherence policy when it comes to the call center. If you have no choice but have to go to the bathroom, depending on your manager, you might get in trouble. They go cheaper when it comes to holiday parties...

    Advice to Management

Salaries for the employees need to be raised. I have a bachelor degree in business management, and I am a call center personal banker. Change salary to least 39,000.00 base start for someone with experience and a college degree. Also change the annual bonus to a quarterly bonus when it comes to making product referrals
    To the consumers.

    Cons

Sometimes feel disconnected from home offices in Canada. Be sure to make connections with someone in the Canadian home office to help keep in touch.

    Advice to Management

Try to improve communication to offices outside of Canada. Remember that we operate differently here and try to recognize th differences.
