I have been working at BMO Harris Bank full-time (More than 3 years)
Pros
Not too "salesy". Promoting products and solutions to our customers based on benefit and financial advice is very easy and comfortable to do. Great benefits. Base compensation is reasonable, and commission is good if you obtain your goals. This is a great job to have if you are willing to put the time and effort into it.
Cons
Being the face of the bank can sometimes be overwhelming. Any issues caused by our call centers, online banking, etc, cause us to take the heat. Can be service heavy at times.
Advice to Management
Pouring into your employees, especially the ones that face our customers, is a great place to start for driving out business growth.

Pros
I enjoyed my 40 1/2 year employment with BMO until recently downsized.
Cons
Opportunities to move to other areas are limited. Company focusing on larger profits.
Pros

Cons
The sales goals were incredibly high for the small branch that I worked at. We didn’t have enough customer traffic to successfully meet them, but corporate still punished us when we didn’t.

Aggressive sales expectations can easily become overwhelming and exhausting. Too much emphasis is placed on cold calling leads and trying to get people to come into the bank when most everything can be done online these days. If you want to be successful you will need to have a relentless drive for sales.
