    Pros

BMO has unmatchable encouragement internally for your personal success. Managers do respond to your quality of work and defitinely encourage your growth. The sky truly is the limit if you've got what it takes and believe you do! They made me feel like I could do anything in which as a result of that encouragement, I could... now that im gone I see how another style does not support personal growth fairly. (Kind of who you know behavior. Disengaged feeling for me overall. Missing the BMO way.)

    Cons

Starting 10 yrs ago at a low salary caused low advances with my growth. Started as post closer within days asked to process no change in pay, after proving myself became senior processor and onwards. Not paid for quality of work. This is THE only reason I left. To go backwards 2 positions in my career Im paid 10k base plus plus... more than my last position held. It left me feeling ill to receive that offer I couldnt refuse after 9 years of personal success being paid so unfairly... If fair review of salary would've been allowed Id never have left. They need a full re-evaluation because... I just heard of a person starting at 65k for a processor base... I made 38k as a Sr Processor before 1st advancement. This should show you the difference of longevity derailment for pay...but again see the Pro's - the personal encouragement to grow and support to develop still makes them a top quality company to work for! Honest! Its what kept me there and so happy overall.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing for the overall feel of the brand and ethics... just reconsider the illegitimate lowsy pay and thus increases for quality employees. If pay wasnt ever a problem internally and fair throughout, you'd be the next Google people wait in line to work for.

    Pros

Good life work balance.Great market manager.

    Cons

Underwriting and processing are centralized and very impersonal. Files get lost in underwriting cloud for weeks at the time. Most loan closing dates are not met. Regional managers are powerless to influence processing times. Lost commissions due to poor loan processing.

    Advice to Management

    Decentralize underwriting

I have been working at BMO Harris Bank full-time

    Pros

Work-life balance, opportunities for promotion, competitive home lending rates, competitive certificate of deposit rates, competitive money market account promotions, competitive customer targeted bonuses, benefits such as 2% employer core retirement contribution, 100% employer match retirement contribution up to 5% of pay, tuition reimbursement, 136 hours of vacation and 10 days of sick pay.

    Cons

Difficult sales goals, outdated internal technology, outdated online banking website, no Veterans Affairs loan/deposit products, conservative lending requirements compared to competition, initiates frequently change, non-competitve credit card products, understaffed (specifically Customer Service Representatives, tellers)

    Advice to Management

Create a better post-November 2016 incentive plan. Raising sales goals and lowering sales revenue credit will only make employees less motivated to achieve their goals. Be more proactive (full time, competitive pay, etc.) in recruiting Customer Service Representatives (tellers), as without them the burden of their duties fall on Relationship Bankers. Invest in internal technology to allow better workflow and efficiencies. Merge bmoharris.com, bmoharriscreditcards.com and bmoharrisrewards.com as it's inconvenient for customers. Offer exclusive benefits for our servicemen and servicewomen for loans and deposit products, it's difficult being unable to assist them. Continue hosting market invites more frequently to interact with those below branch management, as we can offer helpful solutions and it also makes us feel valued.
