I worked at BNP Paribas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - The culture is much more lifestyle-oriented than other banks (e.g. Great vacation allotments, people genuinely want you to take your days off)
    - Think its a great place to work if you have a family
    - Some teams are top in their fields

    Cons

    - Team was a mixed bag, some excellent people, some people who didn't really know what they were doing
    - Salary is very low compared to competition
    - Management wasn't great about developing juniors. Structured feedback was once (maybe twice) a year.
    - Terrible about promotion as well. Doesn't work the same way as other banks, so people tend to leave when they get impatient.

    Advice to Management

Get better at developing juniors. Pay juniors more (they're the cheapest people on your payroll).

I worked at BNP Paribas full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great time off policy, up to 34 days plus holidays. Company likes to reward and promote from within.

    Cons

The culture is to work hard, which often results in longer days. Unfortunately, the expectation is that all work is done in office, so there is minimal work from home

    Advice to Management

Better work from home would help offset the expectation of long work hours, but the extra time off helps.

I worked at BNP Paribas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

When first started, they paid high sign-on and salary than many other IBs

    Cons

Be careful that your first-year income may be the highest income of the whole career life at BNP

    Advice to Management

    Care more for juniors.
