    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at BNP Paribas full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very human organisation. Staff gets very rarely laid off and often voluntarily. Expectations are realistic, so there is less stress. Encourage people to take initiatives to improve the bank

    Cons

Pay is not as high as competitors. Bureaucracy often heavy

    Advice to Management

Remove layers of middle management which is only used as a control function and trust people to do the right thing

I worked at BNP Paribas full-time

    Pros

    Good brand
    Excellent benefits (annual leave, insurances...)
    Generally good work life balance
    Generally nice people
Tries hard to be innovative despite being such a large Group

    Cons

French mindset (lack of efficiency due to long holidays, meetings often start late, a definite advantage for your career if you speak fluent French, or even better, are French, many processes are controlled from Paris)
Efficiency is quite poor due to the size and complexity of the Group
Culture better suited for people who take a long term view on their career: there are some opportunities to move around, but you must first put in the time (it reflects the fact that most employees in France expect to spend their entire career within the BNP Paribas Group)

    Advice to Management

    Empower teams locally
    Simplify the organisation
Streamline processes and projects and give clearer accountability (there are generally too many people involved and it slows down everything)
Increase diversity at the top (not only gender, but also nationalities and cultures)

    Pros

    Good location
    Internal mobility

    Cons

Preference is French speakers / background
Very traditional compared to other banks worked at
    Old technology

    Advice to Management

    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

A relaxed comically french environment where creative individuals' ideas are utilized and propagated and where working late is rightly viewed as a sign of weakness. Maximizing individual potential through directed training and close team interaction makes for strong engagement and an interesting productive workplace.

    Cons

Much lower pay than other banks. Easier to thrive if you speak french

    Advice to Management

    Widen the cultural balance.

I have been working at BNP Paribas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Chilled atmosphere, nice people to work with, benefits for families, sport activities

    Cons

Tough cost cutting period resulting in reduction of data quality across the business, limited internal career/salary progression for young staff, lack diversity

    Advice to Management

Invest in young members of staff with strong AI/coding/digital skills across the business (not only IT). Python, R, SQL, VBA are the languages of business people, researchers and AI
