I worked at BNP Paribas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Decent coffee I guess

    Cons

Its all about appearances, the company says you're allowed to work from home but your manager will never let you. They say the day before a holiday is a half day but good luck trying to leave before 6pm (including Christmas eve and New Years Eve, i would know I was there).

    "RRC Group"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Former Employee - Assistant Vice President in Jersey City, NJ

I worked at BNP Paribas full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Salary was decent for the area.

    Cons

Salary wasn't worth it! Excessive micro-management, clueless employees in key positions (who exert little effort to be productive members of the team), and office gossip (the toxic kind). I worked for each of the Big 4 Investment Banks in multiple areas of the industry (never had an issue), and at least 3 of the fellow employees here at BNP RRC were wasted resources who would have been terminated.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to pull the trigger on several terminations and re-examine the overall management strategy and team delegation as a whole.

I have been working at BNP Paribas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

BNP Paribas benefits such as PTO , health benefits, and 401k match are above industry practice

    Cons

Company is currently transitioning numerous jobs outside of the tri-state area. Management's approach is very cut-throat which makes it difficult for people to be loyal and collaborative as they are looking over their shoulder in fear they may be part of the next cost reduction phase.

    Advice to Management

If you are going to operate a French banking with a large presence in the US. please embrace commitment to those employees who are hard working and have been just as commitment to the BNP Paribas way for many years now.

I have been working at BNP Paribas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Nothing I can think of.

    Cons

The culture sucks. The management sucks. French nationals dominant company. The management does not care about you. They will give you zero flexibility. They are mean to the core and will expect you to be in office until 7 or 8 because the management folks who live right across the street have no life and they come in office at 7 and leave only at 8. Say goodbye to your personal life if you want to work here. You won’t grow here, your work is not valued, you are not valued, you are not heard, your problems are not heard. There is favouritism everywhere and you’ll feel like an outsider if you are a person of color. There are better companies in the market, unless you have nothing in hand, don’t join them.

    Advice to Management

Empathise. Don’t just focus on writing emails about what you wish to do and achieve; rather start to care about your Employees, listen to their problem. Don’t be selfish!
