I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Trying to emulate a start up culture.

    Cons

Pay is not as competitive as other big banks or funded start ups. There is enormous organizational chaos. Most of the middle and upper management are tenured and provide lip service to modernization and collaborative spirit. Hiring and onboarding not very efficient.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers with not just technical skills but also knowledgeable about organization behavior and have leadership acumen. Have an enthusiastic on-boarding process for new employees. Remove dysfunctions within and across teams. Create a system of accountability. Teams providing services to other teams should be accountable for their products and services.
