I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive salary, great benefits packages for both health care and retirement, Many extra optional benefits, such as car/home insurance, legal aid, even pet insurance. Other perks, such as paid holidays, on site medical facility, volunteer opportunities, social groups within the company that you can join that support various health-related issues, the LGBTQ community, etc... and the company really does value their employees and puts families first!

    Cons

None that I can even think of or have encountered since I have been employed.

I worked at BNY Mellon as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people and a strong push on advanced software. Company does care about their people and there is a global reach.

    Cons

Work isn't complex and becomes extremely redundant and repetitive fast. Anyone working as a TA should only be doing it for no more than 2 years. The goal is to attain a CSM or accounting position or leave. Last, but not least, there is a serious lack of promoting from within. I won't complain about the pay, because getting paid more would be unfair.

    Advice to Management

    Promote more from within.

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility, lot of opportunity for hard workers to deliver and progress. Great team environment. Good access to executives and enjoyable environment.

    Cons

Very slow to change, uphill fight to secure funding for some basics while 'novel' development is bleeding money away. HR centralization has just left business carrying the workload

    Pros

    Great coworkers
Easy to connect with other parts of BNY Mellon in the building
    Good location in Boston
    Flexible hours

    Cons

Difficult to get major projects in motion
A lot of phone-based group projects

    Advice to Management

Keep doing the same, but improve communication on large scale projects. Perhaps as simple as having a centralized list of all ongoing projects that ALL employees can see.

    Pros

The company is great with diversity with in the administrative career arena and very accommodating to family life. Although advancement and pay increase is rare however it's definitely a company for career stability.

    Cons

the lack of cohesion amongst departments as well as employee value from management was at times disheartening.

    Advice to Management

BNY fills management position with people who are not experienced within the industry which causes a lack of communication and an understanding of what is actually happening.
