    Difficult Culture and Quarterly Layoffs

    Pros

Some good people on team. Good clients who have interesting work to challenge you

    Cons

Regular layoffs. Command and culture structure. Toxic culture where people are looking out for themselves and pay little attention to the needs of employees. Bad management . Lose/reduction of WFH schedules. Benefits get worse each year

    BNY Mellon Westborough Review

    Pros

I loved the people I worked with.

    Cons

very little or no pay increases and they often expect you to take on extra roles without any compensation. I worked there for 5 years and gave everything I had for very little pay given my qualifications, and they terminated me with little to no explanation why!

    Pros

There are a lot of networking opportunities and the people I work with are great. Management encourages employees to network and helps provide opportunities and training to advance career.

    Cons

The pay is not competitive and special considerations are given to those who work in the front office (client-facing) as opposed to those in back office (operations side).

    Cons

    It is up to you...

    Pros

If you are persistent and focus on career progression it pays in the long run. I found that you move up the (career) ladder relatively quickly, if you compromise at the very beginning (i.e. in terms of jobs/roles/salary) and keep pursuing your goals. Change your roles frequently, until you find your sweet spot!

    Cons

The firm is frequently perceived to have the behavior of a dinosaur i.e. very slow in adjusting to new rules of the industry and delivering on strategy. Senior management (US) seems to lack the required vision to deliver shareholder value. We all know what happened to the dinosaurs...

Good entry level jobs but hard to move up

Mar 25, 2014 - Senior Fund Accountant in King of Prussia, PA

    Pros

You can learn a lot and move departments pretty easily. Tuition assistance is pretty good too.

    Cons

Pay is pretty low and sometimes networking will get you the promotion opposed to who actually deserves it

    Stay Away

Sep 20, 2021 - Analyst in Washington, DC

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Really no pros of working in the DC/Tysons offices or many of the other ones.

    Cons

Horrible management, abusive environment and HR will do nothing to help you. The pay is well below market averages and they’ll pretty much force you to work overtime without getting paid. There is constant turnover and they can’t get anyone to work there since they pay below market. Super political and two people in management are known company wide (and area wide) as people who are difficult to work with and take zero responsibility.

    Pros

    - Great Work/ Life Balance - Great People & Co-workers - Good Place to Learn about Banking - Supports Professionalism and encourages employees to obtain certifications - Lots of vacation days

    Cons

    - Pay is below industry standards (including bonus) and raises are not the best either - In some departments w/in Audit limited opportunity for growth
