    Going down hill

    Pros

The company USED to prioritize work/life balance, but not anymore.

    Cons

    - technology is outdated - no work/life balance -- they no longer allow work from home at any level and any request needs to be approved by your manager's manager - Executive level only cares about HQ region -- other offices don't get the same perks. - Layoffs across the global company weekly!

    Pros

There are some very smart and dedicated staff that could be better utilized. Benefits are in line with industry. Work from home was an option but was based on the manager and not the role.

    Cons

Company use to be more people-oriented: Profit sharing, pension, regular salary increases and opportunity for promotion; most of which went away. Hours were horrendous but that was due to the manager not company-wide. To cut costs, bank seems to hire young people with no experience vs. experienced personnel which hurts productivity.

    Avoid this place

    Pros

IF you work in NYC you're safe.

    Cons

There's a big focus on centralizing technology in NYC. There's also a move to force all work from home employees back in the office. Layoffs are constant and secretive, even though there are plenty of open requisitions. It's a constant cycle of hire and fire. There is also rampant discrimination and setups for poor performance to justify letting individuals go. These guys have no values. I should've listened to the advice I received prior to joining BNYM. They have a bad reputation.

If you're honestly considering FUND ACCOUNTANT @ BNY, take the time to read this

    Pros

I truly cannot think of any Pros for this job..maybe if you like sitting around all day and doing nothing in a cubicle then that could be a a pro??

    Cons

NO work/life balance -Hours are 10am to 7pm Mon-Friday -Cannot Work from home until you've been there for a year (you need help if you've been there that long) -Heavy reliance on 3rd party vendors, so if they are slow on their work then you will not be leaving work until at least 8pm. TERRIBLE SALARY/Benefits -For what this job entails, pay should be decent but it is far from that. I could make more money ubering 40 hours a week then working here. CULTURE/OFFICE LIFE -Toxic environment. All day coworkers are talking behind each others back like it's high school. People do not enjoy working there and they put that negativity on everyone else. There are a few good souls there, but they're tough to come by. -The whole floor (13th) is disgusting. Bathrooms are gross and probably haven't been worked on since the building (500 Grant) was put up. My closet has better lighting that the bathroom. The so called 'kitchen' has one little fridge and a dirty microwave.

    Pros

I think overall BNYM is a great company to work for. They benefit package is nice and includes paternity leave.

    Cons

The work/home life balance could be better with more flexible work arrangements such as the ability to have set work from home days.

    OK at best

    Pros

The pay is alright and the ability to work from home and in office is nice.

    Cons

Poor training and reliance on contracts through a staffing agency. The training is hands off from management and you're left to learn everything on your own. Also, the position is mainly hired out of staffing agencies so you don't have the benefits of being a direct hire until after your contact is up (usually 1 year)

Never hated a company like I hate BNY Mellon

    Pros

Some smart people. Some people are friendly

    Cons

In 20 years of my career, I have never hated any company like I hate BNY Mellon. A total dictating culture. They took away bonus they promised and claimed that’s because you were rated as below expectation, even when you have already worked very hard. They took away work from home even that’s the setup when signing the contract. They force you to resign so they don’t need to pay a package. No dignity! Hard to believe we work for a big company. A big wave of people resigned voluntarily. I will resign soon because I’d rather leave this sh*thole then staying there suffering everyday. For anyone who consider working here, please read the reviews carefully.
