I worked at BRP full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. Innovative and well designed product.

    Cons

Little advancement opportunity unless you are Canadian and willing to relocate there. Current management is out of touch and adversarial with dealers.

    Advice to Management

Innovative products and design are industry leading, but quality should be improved. Sales leadership is misguided and actually costing sales.

I worked at BRP full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Nice peers and innovative company

    Cons

Management unqualified and lacks integrity. Most management jobs are still in Quebec, managers in Plano are only puppets to them. Lots of politics that impact employee moral and creates a stressful environment. "Treats employees like morons." "Lots of stress between the Quebec vs Plano office." "being a canadian/french company they always favor their local teams more than american jobs." "The US is your biggest market so start acting like it and stop treating us like morons." - Zero opportunity for advancement if you are not old college friends with management. Promotions & bonuses are based only on the "buddy system" & nothing to do with performance = no incentive to excel. - French-only mentality. Global markets are ignored, underfunded & mismanaged. Management pays themselves useless, superexpensive International business trips with zero understanding of foreign markets instead of working with a local experts. - Rampant & noticeable racism. If you're not French & not upper management you'll be treated like a second-class citizen. - No innovation in systems & processes cause everyone knows each-other & thinks the same way & no one is willing to take risks or see what other companies are doing & try something new.

    Advice to Management

Stop the "good ole boy system." Promote from within based on talent & experience & performance in Plano, not personal preference.

I worked at BRP full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Kind to employees with some fair benefits

    Cons

Continuous change in leadership filtering through the organization resulting in poor processes, strategy, systems and ultimately results. Product performance and market share suffering

    Advice to Management

Fish or cut bait with this under-performing division. So behind the competition.

I worked at BRP full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Peers, catered lunches on occasions

    Cons

Management, HR, constant turnover with regular firings of good people. “Walk on eggshells” environment. Little to no training or direction for new hires which HR is aware of. Akin to Blackberry reputation in how they treat employees. DFW has too much opportunity to waste in a repressive, passive aggressive environment. Pay is well below industry average for all departments. I was given a measly 2.5% raise after a stellar review and working weekends regularly. If you like corporate politics, red tape and strive to fit in to a closed boys club, BRP is for you.

    Advice to Management

It’s Powersports not brain surgery. The library environment, clock watching and unstable employee retention with regular firings and unhappy individuals quitting in record time is disconcerting and makes for a negative workplace.

I have been working at BRP full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There is a culture of collaboration and dedication, with a standard drive for success. The company cares about its employees and expects the same in return. With offices all over the world there are opportunities to experience different cultures and use these experiences in your role. The new office in Plano is taking shape, people are excited to go to work, there is a unique culture of passion and drive that sets the BRP offices high above the rest.

    Cons

There is no employee handbook to doing the job, for some, this is not the way they operate. For others, it’s an environment to thrive in. It is hard to tell who will truly thrive before they begin, so this can be a risk.

    Advice to Management

Keep the culture of the Quebec offices alive in Plano. Let all new employees see and understand why people work so hard and are so dedicated and passionate.

I have been working at BRP full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I am lucky enough to work with a great manager who I think, is a good representation of what the company is. A company with a heart who truly cares about its employees, who will work with you during difficult time and will go well above and beyond what most company will do for its employees. The office is located in a perfect area in the DFW - Legacy West and the culture is pretty laid back. Without forgetting the game-console and free food every now and then. 401K is pretty good (up to 6% and fully vested right away)

I worked at BRP full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Innovative company with great products. They are on the leading edge of R&D, have a great dealer network and are impressive at quality in manufacturing.

    Cons

The company has a terrible reputation for their frequent restructuring usually based on whatever "flavor of the VP that was recently hired" feels how things should go. The sales team lacks direction as is evident with high level of turnover. Lots of politics within the sales org that impact employee moral and creates a stressful environment.

    Advice to Management

Top level managers (director level) are hindering the performance of others. Too many changes without proper change management tactics. Management lacks integrity (stated to all sales during re-org that only office based positions were at risk but then let 18 DSM's go nationwide).
