I worked at BRP full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Talented design studio with a nice track record an reputation.
    - Flexible working conditions.

    Cons

    - Zero opportunity for advancement if you are not old college friends with management. Promotions & bonuses are based only on the "buddy system" & nothing to do with performance = no incentive to excel.
    - French-only mentality. Global markets are ignored, underfunded & mismanaged. Management pays themselves useless, superexpensive International business trips with zero understanding of foreign markets instead of working with a local experts.
    - Rampant & noticeable racism. If you're not French & not upper management you'll be treated like a second-class citizen.
    - No innovation in systems & processes cause everyone knows each-other & thinks the same way & no one is willing to take risks or see what other companies are doing & try something new.
    - Overpaying for old & obsolete technology. Zero IT and digital expertise in-house & Major purchasing decisions are in the hands of newlygrads with no real experience learning as they go.
    - No listening to what the market or customers want.
    - Tone-deaf communications, marketing and social media. Typos, errors and mistakes in everything that goes to the public.

    Advice to Management

    - Recognize your high achievers more.
    - Promote from within based on talent & experience & performance, not personal preference.
    - Listen to your employees and customers.
    - Hire people different than yourself, not a**-kissing yes-men.

I worked at BRP full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There were always fun events to be apart of. Advancement opportunities were available if you worked hard, but only if your manager was a believer in you.

    Cons

Always restructuring due to being such a large company, which in turn equates to laying off employees.

    I worked at BRP full-time

    Pros

most co-workers are great to work with and very dedicated to BRP and the Evinrude product

    Cons

Management does not plan or staff for a 8 hour, 5-day production schedule. Working Saturdays on the assembly line and both Saturdays and Sundays in machining are considered to be the norm and there is little to no effort to address the underlying problems. There is also a lot of high brow "business-y" talk at monthly update meetings, almost as though management is trying to show off how smart they think they are.

    Advice to Management

Overtime should be the exception, not the rule. Get your act together.
