    Pros

the reason is that it is a big company that is always growing and looking for people so there is plenty of opportunity in the company

    Cons

there are a lot of changes in the company so it is probably not for people who dont like changes. The processes are continuously being reengineered and developed

"Terrible Employer - Treats employees unequally"

I have been working at BSM Technologies full-time

    Pros

    - you get paid bi-weekly so a paycheque every 2 weeks.
     - no one seems to care what time you come in or if you take 100 cigarette breaks.
     - benefits are the typical 80% coverage

    Cons

    - company is hemorrhaging good quality people very fast. They are getting laid off or are quitting in droves due to the sheer incompetence of senior management.

    - the CSO who heads the sales team keeps missing his numbers and bullies the sales reps menacingly. He is on thin ice and pretty much the entire sales team is looking forward to the day he gets cut. During our 2016 Kickoff Event, this CSO went on a profanity-laced tirade in front of the whole team and made himself look like the biggest fool in the company. How professional is that?

    - The company is completely devoted to the shareholders... if the sales number is not hit, they make up the revenue lost by cutting staff to make up for any lost earnings.

    - This company grows by buying other smaller organizations and inheriting the associated technologies. There is no real product development internally - no innovation. The competition is miles ahead of what BSM offers.

    - to be blunt, the mgmt style is a pure dictatorship.

    Advice to Management

    - treat people fairly. why let someone come in at 10am, have 50 smoke breaks and waddle back in like she's the queen?

     - instead of intimidating staff, why not actually help them succeed at their role? the CSO adds no value and operates on ancient sales methodologies. replace him with someone with better experience and more modern sales approaches.

    - spend more on product development and release an actual product that can compete head on with all the other competitors.

     - to senior mgmt/the board of directors - you need to better scrutinize the sales forecast because the CSO has a history of over promising and under delivering.

    Pros

there is no pro for this company , unless you just need a job

    Cons

    - low pay
    - micromanagement across the board.
    - dictatorship
    - they've had so many layoffs, teams are very small, with high expectation
    - they expect you to work 24/7 with no consideration of personal life
    - way more directors and VPs than they should have.
    - no respect for employees
    - people who want to do the right thing are not a "good fit,"

    Advice to Management

    - pull your head out of the sand, this company is going to hell

    Pros

    - Pay is reasonable
    - Located in a centralized area
    - Work around regular business hours

    Cons

    - Nepotism, lots of it
    - Directors and managers hiring friends
    - You have nobody to take your concerns to
    - Very heavy micromanagement and time management
    - Snide remarks are made from time to time when arriving 3-5 minutes late
    - Development team does not work with the sales team
    - COO/CEOs hiring best friends and making them directors
    - More directors than customer service agents

    Advice to Management

    - Instead of hiring best friends while demoting others gauge your audience and your team first
    - Employees have been let go because they were deemed "Not a good fit" after 3 years, meanwhile the manager that let them go has been at the company for 3 weeks?
    - Nepotism needs to come to a stop
    - Listen to your employees
    - Manage like managers should, arrange one on ones with your reps, work with your team

I worked at BSM Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You work with some good, hard-working people who genuinely care about the customer experience. There's comradery amongst those who feel over-worked and under-appreciated.

    Cons

The senior management only cares about acquisitions and the company's bottom-line. That means, its customers and its staff take a back seat while the company strives for more profit. It is an extremely unorganized and frantic environment which breeds finger-pointing and a lack of accountability.

    Advice to Management

You cannot give advice to someone who doesn't feel they are doing anything wrong.

I have been working at BSM Technologies full-time

    Pros

Location: easily accessible from 401/409/427. The M2M industry is booming. It is a public company listed as BSM Technologies, so some level of transparency there in terms of what's going on within the company.

    Cons

Very old technology. System is built on ASP.NET website NOT even Web Application, and SQL Server 2000. Running in Windows Server 2003 with IIS 6. Job descriptions are misleading mentioning all the new technology but they don't use those. Just to attract new people, they just put them there. Promotes individualism, no team, no document, no process what so ever. Technology talents are leaving every week. Employee turnover rate is very high within R&D.

    Advice to Management

Focus on training and motivating employees. Just firing and hiring new employees will NOT improve the Software Development group. Give salary increase for employees who works long time without any increase.
