I have been working at BSO full-time

    Pros

The access to the concerts is great.

    Cons

It's the arts, so entry-level salaries are not competitive.

    I worked at BSO part-time

    Pros

When perks to patron were generous, it was reflected in overall donations, increasing commissions. Free concert tickets.

    Cons

Too many slow periods . Paycheck amount fluctuated wildly. Poor lead pools, too many errors in patron histories.

    Advice to Management

More benefits to patron equal more, higher contributions. Pay attention to accuracy in patron data, which would make callers' time more productive.

    I worked at BSO full-time

    Pros

Surrounded by world class music and have the opportunity to go to concerts.

    Cons

Only higher level employees are paid well, middle and entry level positions are extremely under-paid. While pay was lower, the upside had been good benefits, however over the past decade benefits have declined yearly.
The organization doesn't accept change and doesn't foster innovative thinking.
There is a lack of support for employees which makes many feel disposable. In many cases, there is no upward mobility for employees.
