I have been working at BT full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible working , strong management team, respectful culture and international focus makes it great place to build a network . Lots of presence in South America

    Cons

Pay plan , long sales cycles, lack of brand awareness and absence of marketing makes sales very difficult as often prospective customers don't know us.... churn of sales and sales managers over the years severely limits potential

    Advice to Management

Invest in raising brand profile , as BT is absent from the market.... not known

I have been working at BT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A place to work if you have no other alternative

    Cons

    - Archaic processes, culture, organization structure
    - Watch out. Vacation is "granted' not "earned". In case you leave, no pay out.
    - Offer has no notice period
    - Inertia to change
    - Rooted in British class system

    Advice to Management

Hire a US consulting firm and revamp the operation from TOP.

    Pros

If you keep quiet and just do mediocre work, the work life balance is great.

    Cons

Where do I start, innovation is punished, it is painfully obvious that the B-team is running the Americas region and the real investment is in the UK.

    Advice to Management

Your best bet is to spin-off Global Services and focus on what you can do well, domestic UK telecom.

    Advice to Management

Get some training on how to manage a talented professional workforce and build a professional services business.
