I have been working at BT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The health benefits are superb. Pay rate, for me, is decent.

    Cons

While my pay rate is pretty decent, there are others within the company that make far less than me and do far more work. Management seems out of touch and really out to put out fires, rather than prevent them from occurring in the first place.

    Advice to Management

Be proactive and don't throw your people under the bus. If something is wrong, it is on you to train and fix. Forward thinking and proactive measures to prevent fires would help the employee and the customer

    I worked at BT full-time

    Pros

Great vacation, decent healthcare, 401k matching, average salaries, raises and bonuses, UK based and widespread international footprint.

    Cons

Most business support is in the UK or Dallas TX. Bonuses fluctuate. Company is UK based, so most internal investment is UK focused.

    Pros

    Good communication from Sr. Maagement
Great opportunities to learn new skills, cultures, etc.
Travel opportunities if you want that.
Excellent work/life balance. When not on the road, I work from home.
Great conferencing/collaboration tools (Dolby Audio conferencing for example)

    Cons

Salary is less than financial services. BT is fundamentally a Telecom company and they just don't pay as well.

    Advice to Management

Make a more visible commitment to the US-based business.

I worked at BT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people. Very nice office in NYC with stellar views.
Good culture. Profit sharing and 401K good.

    Cons

Low compensation compared to market. US employees treated differently than UK/EMEA. Lots of management turn over and sweeping layoffs each year in USA but not in UK make for confusing environment. Difficult to get things done without sufficient resources. Everyone is stretched thin due to layoffs and outsource.

    Advice to Management

Invest in keeping your people. Too much turnover. Management not credible due to the many changes.
