I have been working at BTIG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

BTIG is unique in that it has historically been a trading organization that more recently expanded into investment banking. The firm has aggressively poached senior bankers from across the street (Jefferies, FBR, etc.) to build its practice and the firms trading roots allow it to provide after market support that far exceeds its MM peers and is comparable to many BB banks. While most banks are contracting, BTIG is rapidly expanding and stealing share. Also recently got a big investment from Blackstone and Goldman. It's an exciting time to be at the organization and I think you'll hear the name a lot more over the coming months / years.

In terms of management, the senior bankers do a great job giving us exposure to clients and the hours aren't bad.

Catered lunch everyday is a nice perk

    Cons

As the firm has historically been a trading organization some of the admin polices are still in flux. Can be annoying at times

    Advice to Management

Formal on-boarding training would be very useful to ensure that new hires are immediately efficient and effective.

I worked at BTIG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The opportunity to advance, succeed, and get paid is there if you want it. You have to grab it with both hands, find the right mentors in the company, and make them believe in you as much as you believe in yourself. If you prove yourself and convince them to take off the training wheels, you can have relatively free reign to work as you see fit, in whatever manner you see fit, so long as you get the job done.

    Cons

It is a small organization that often times moves at the speed of a multinational conglomerate. Lots of bottlenecks in making key decisions, sometimes things that seem like pertinent issues that must be addressed ASAP languish for literally months, and other times you'll be told that a decision is imminent only for

    Advice to Management

Please move faster in making decisions, or at least be more transparent in why or why not you are making certain decisions. Grateful for all the opportunities, but also too many times left out in the lurch on why things did or did not happen (with the occasional "huh? we never talked about that!")
