I have been working at BTIG full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Co-founders are approachable and care about employees.
    Fair/generous compensation structure.
Annual Charity Day raises $4+ million for various children's charities.

    Cons

Bring back the casual dress code! Jeans used to be worn daily, then changed to Fridays only.

    Advice to Management

We need a bigger office space.

I have been working at BTIG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people and environment are exceptional. I worked at a major investment bank before, and this place is much more human. It's actually enjoyable to come in to work. Pay is good - not the top tier of the industry, but still quite good. Benefits are good. Office is nice. Location is central so almost any commute is possible.

    Cons

    Can't really think of any.

    Advice to Management

Don't disturb wasp nests. Don't swim alone. Don't marry Russian strippers.

I have been working at BTIG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Catered lunches, reasonable pay, good bonuses, great location in the Transamerica Pyramid financial district, New York market hours, benefits are okay...but geared toward mid to later career traders/ upper-middle to upper class incomes

    Cons

Only hires extremely overqualified candidates, absolutely no career growth, a lot of micromanagement, no 401k retirement contribution for employees, not a place for early career - young people will work hard and be expected to carry more of a workload than their tenured coworkers

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees and let them grow with the company, promote from within- it builds morale and encourages both teamwork and healthy competition... Else, you will continue to lose extremely intelligent and competent young employees

I worked at BTIG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very good compensation. Great quarterly bonus. Free lunch and great people to work with. Lots of perks. You learn a lot.

    Cons

Working East Coast hours when you're on the West Coast. Long hours from 5:30am - 3:30pm.
No matter how hard you work it doesn't seem to be enough. Very stressful environment work with traders. Management expects a lot of you.

    Advice to Management

Give praise more often for those who works hard.

    Pros

Free lunch. Conveniently located in midtown. Trading is their strength. The traders are unsurpassed.

    Cons

Management doesn't honor promises. Negativity, judgmental attitudes and undermining colleagues creates a toxic work environment. Micro-management suffocates opportunity and creativity. Turnover is high.

    Neutral Outlook

    I worked at BTIG full-time

    Pros

The firm offers a lively, entrepreneurial, upbeat working environment. You're limited only by your creativity and, more importantly, the value of your business relationships.

    Cons

It can be very difficult to compete with better-capitalized firms. Not a great place to work if you don't have extraordinarily strong relationships.

    Advice to Management

A little more capital would go a long way.
