I have been working at Babcock International Group full-time

    Pros

Babcock support their staff being part of the Reserve Forces by offering additional paid leave to allow for training, because the recognise the benefit that this training and experience will give their staff. I have found the balance of work and training to fit quite well and feel valued as a member of staff because I am allowed to be a part of the Reserves too.

    Cons

As always, it can be a challenge to make the training dates line up with work commitments so good time management skills are required.

    Advice to Management

Show an interest in the commitments of your employees, and be supportive of their personal development

I worked at Babcock International Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I spent 27 happy years at this company who assisted me in in many way through my career. They actually do what they say and are indeed investors in people.

    Cons

Due to the nature of the business there tends to be peaks and troughs in the amount of work but they always managed to keep you with work, occasionally having to move you to other business units within Babcock.

I worked at Babcock International Group as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Firstly, everyone who I worked with within the company during my stay were lovely and very easy to get on with. The tasks I were given were challenging, however, I was always given the advice and help needed to complete them. I never felt like there were any times were I could not ask anyone for help. The work was always changing, I had opportunities to work within different department, work on STEM activities and help with graduate tasks. I also got the chance to work 4 condensed days a week, rather than 5 shorter hour days meaning I had longer weekends. This suited me as I traveled from Glasgow every day.

    Cons

Towards the end of the 12 weeks I was finding myself with less work to do, however, I was soon able to move to a different office to help with work there which gave me more to do.
