    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Babson College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun people to work with, and the hours are convenient. The advisers are also really helpful, and are very clear with what they expect of the tutors. Also, it is a great job to have on campus.

    Cons

It can be hard to balance everything if you have a lot of responsibilities, but overall, you can counter this with good time management.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Babson College full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, excellent pay, very understanding employees. Flexible management. Care for employees with sick time, on site eye exams once a year, flexible snow days.

    Cons

Can be difficult to be promoted or find jobs within the college because of small size and fewer open positions compared to a larger company/university.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Babson College full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent students and good resources. Very positive teaching experience. Community draws from a broad and global population across all programs which enriches the experience.

    Cons

Many colleagues are wonderful. Some colleagues can be unfriendly and self absorbed. In a small college, that can be off putting, especially for new faculty.

    Advice to Management

Don't play favorites. Also, on balance way too many administrators considering the expectations for faculty to do administrative work.

I worked at Babson College full-time

    Pros

    - Salary is a little more than the industry average, and better than other schools in the area.
    - 100% of tuition is covered if you are interested in getting a reputable MBA for free
    - Have activities and rooms for professional development
    - A pretty collaborative culture

    Cons

    - Upward promotion is very limited...typical in higher ed. people stay there for years without proper evaluation and regardless of performance
    - The politic here is horrendous. High turnover rate among the executives and deans
    - #1 in Entrepreneurship but a lot of their operation processes are outdated, and not really receptive to changes as what might be advertised
    - Many middle managers are incompetent, unprofessional and don't care about their employees

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to make changes, take the yearly evaluation seriously. There are way too many people that are working there, but they're not supposed to be. There are many young talented employees that are leaving because there are limited opps for promotion and middle management is ignoring their feedback or doesn't care about their growth.

Practice what you preach! Be an entrepreneur school!
