I worked at Bacara Resort & Spa full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I personally had a great manager, can't say the same for the rest of the resort. Benefits to partner hotels were awesome and my work/life balance was everything I could have asked for. We got the budget to get the equipment we needed as well so that was a plus.

    Cons

I had 3 managers during my 3 years at Bacara, so the turnover was higher than expected.

    Advice to Management

Give pay raises to the right people who are actually working hard each day to improve the company! oh and Sashi is a sweetheart, great leader!

I worked at Bacara Resort & Spa part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked as a Spa Receptionist and was paid well

    Cons

Higher management was disorganized and not the best at managing our team. The entire hotel felt disjointed and collaborating with other departments was often difficult.

    Advice to Management

Create a more unified vision for service and communication throughout the hotel.

I worked at Bacara Resort & Spa full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful environment, fun atmosphere, fun co-workers, free uniform laundry

    Cons

Disorganized, hard to take time off

    Advice to Management

Have more than just the bare minimum of staff- it's cheap and makes it near impossible to get a shift covered which is why people just called out or didn't show up all the time. Better, more comprehensive and organized training in regards to wine knowledge and trying new menu items. Stop changing menu every 5 months and not having an organized tasting/info day! Don't be cheap with the pool food, guests called us out on it. Fix things around the hotel when employees request for them to be fixed because it interferes with their job...

I worked at Bacara Resort & Spa full-time (More than a year)

I have been working at Bacara Resort & Spa full-time

    Pros

A lot of the employees are very committed to making sure the guest's have an excellent experience.

    Cons

Executive management is embarrassingly incompetent and they are so cheap that they don't staff adequately or pay well enough in order to provide the experiences that the guests are paying for.

    Advice to Management

Pay as much as your comp sets, and staff accordingly for the type of business you pretend to be.
