    Pros

Beautiful setting and friendly co workers. Room to move up and opportunities to work in multiple positions. Quality training.

    Cons

Sometimes a "don't be seen or heard" vibe, which is unfortunate but understandable in the hospitality/service industry.

I worked at Bacara Resort & Spa part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The setting was peaceful and the guests and members were great.

    Cons

I had to answer to a supervisor that didn't even have a college degree and had zero experience. Co workers were bad mouthed by supervisors and other co workers. Friends of the supervisors were favored. There never was a happy/fulfilled vibe from anyone. I rarely heard anyone being uplifted or appreciated. Co workers spoke rudely to each other.

    Advice to Management

Your employees need to be treated equally. Work on being approachable by your employees. More clear communication with procedures

I worked at Bacara Resort & Spa full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly staff, makes you feel like family. High dollar guests led to big tips. Good discounts on property for employees

    Cons

They were in the process of changing owners and cut costs in ways that made longtime repeat customers constantly dissatisfied. The angry guests made it hard for me to do my job.

    Advice to Management

Make careful consideration in where you choose to make cutbacks. You have a practically legendary brand in the Bacara name and it is a shame to cheapen that.

  11. "Good place to work for a summer"

    Star Star Star Star Star

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Bacara Resort & Spa full-time

    Pros

Well paid for an hourly summer, some fun coworkers, etc. Very nice property. Good perks for friends and family.

    Cons

I was there in a period of transition, so management was a little scattered. Also, hotel work is not for everybody, especially considering the demanding clientele and working in extremely busy (and overbooked) season.
