You feel part of a family, people will engage with you immediately and you won't be pushed too hard to achieve results
Actually the working hours (8-20)
I worked at Badenoch & Clark full-time (Less than a year)
Having worked for B&C I found the Brighton team to be highly professional and dedicated, the whole team was extremely positive with "we can do this" attitude. Every morning the team have a meeting about who they are targeting, what is happening and exchange ideas on best practices which left me feeling extremely motivated.
They have a great training program that is 2nd to none and the managers are very supportive in helping you achieve your goal.
The IT system could do with some upgrading.
Advice to Management
More one to one meetings.
Great team ethos
Best commision structure
Long hours but that's recruitment

I worked at Badenoch & Clark (More than 8 years)
-Enjoyable team culture, friendly and supportive
-A business that grows and supports career recruiters rather than just bringing people in to make a 'quick buck'
- excellent entry level training as well as defined career progression
-Strong brand in the market; professional, service oriented, expert in markets, boutique feel and ethical
-Excellent incentives monthly and annually both at B&C and Adecco level
- Personally found the management and leadership to be driven, approachable, bright and inspiring
There is a robust infrastructure, but Adecco back office functions such as Payroll and IT need to be stronger with better communication with front office
More modern approach required to incorporate flexible and home working, with technology that supports this. Would be better in attracting younger talent as well as retaining longer term employees enabling them to balance work with family life
Advice to Management
I had an excellent career which I am grateful for, but felt a few things may have prompted some turnover of some long term staff. Urgently invest in improving IT, prioritise flexible working options, nurture culture, offer more training and development to the 2+ years recruiters
I worked for Ben a few years ago when he was managing the Brighton office and still billing huge figures. Ben's staggering work ethic is matched only by his efficiency and knowledge. A great motivator and a friendly manager who is easy to approach and always willing to help.
I honestly couldn't fault the office, Ben created a team of people who are as committed to his vision and he is. The service and code they operate by is of the highest quality I have seen in any work environment
I joined the department as a graduate and immediately felt welcomed and valued during my time there. I was part of a New Starter Programme, which created both a peer group and a forum to feedback to seniority about our experiences.
The training for those without prior work in recruitment is phenomenal. The theoretical booklets give a solid grounding and there are a number of experienced hands around to bring that knowledge to life. People are always willing to help no matter which team they are situated in.
This company holds regular social events which always see a healthy turnout, no doubt due to warm atmosphere amongst colleagues in the office. This culminates in the grand Adecco Conference in January, where all companies in the group congregate to celebrate their achievements.
I have no criticisms of my time at B&C. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend working here to any recruitment professionals out there.
I worked at Badenoch & Clark full-time (More than 3 years)
- Good training for young people coming into the business
- Clear career path outline
- Lots of support within the business to perform from a senior level down. Good team of senior Directors who are doing a good job with the C&I business
- So much opportunity in the business to come in and progress your career very quickly. This depends on manager or Director though. Ben Searls is a good one to get if you are looking for progression.
- Good environment to be part of and a very well structured business, with much opportunity people don't tap into most of it
- Feel like the business is driven by Adecco at times which leads to a lack of being able to influence any change below Director level
I joined the team in 2011 as fairly new recruit into the recruitment sector. The Brighton team was just starting out but I instantly felt part of a great team and quickly saw the office and the team (as well as my own skills) grow. This was largely to Ben and Vikki Searls who put a great deal of time, effort and energy into making B&C brighton a great place to work. This ethos did reflect in the other parts of the business that I saw at the end of year events and at training programmes that I attended.
All in all a good place to work. You do have to be dedicated and motivated to work in this industry but the B&C team certainly make this more amenable.
