I have been working at Bain & Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, great people, and lots of fun. Bain is an incredible place to start your career in business (and have a great time doing it).

    Cons

Long hours are to be expected; that is purely the nature of consulting. No real cons other than that.

I have been working at Bain & Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get the opportunity to solve the toughest problems that executive teams and Private Equity firms face. The work is fast-paced but also incredibly rewarding. I can guarantee you will learn more at a year at Bain than almost every other job out there. Other than the work you get to do the people at Bain are the best. Everyone is incredibly smart and the work environment is very collaborative.

    Cons

The work-life balance can be a negative in the consulting industry, Bain has great system in place to minimize late nights or extended hours.

I have been working at Bain & Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I've worked at several companies so far in my life, and I have really been amazed by my experience at Bain. We deliver incredible results for our clients bringing our experience and analytical rigor and working with clients hand in hand to determine and address their issues. We have an incredibly supportive and fun culture that helps us grow and become amazing partners to our clients and leaders when we decide to leave.

    Cons

The cons that I see at Bain & Company are more so industry related than company related. Professional services is tougher than industry, from an hours and travel perspective.

    Advice to Management

Continue driving our growth while maintaining what makes our organization great: the culture and the results. Continue to push and innovate the toolkit that we can bring to our clients and broadly share that toolkit to the leadership.

    Pros

Great place to build a business career. It provides opportunities and experiences well beyond what you can get in corporate positions.

    Cons

There is very little to say in terms of cons at Bain. Only caveat would be if you know exactly what you want to do in a specialized role, Bain's learnings are more general.

I have been working at Bain & Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Bain is an unparalleled place to start a career. As a young person you are tasked with solving problems of the highest impact. Each time you begin to feel comfortable with your job you are asked to fill a new role - creating an environment of ongoing learning that is invaluable.

Beyond that - Bain invests in its people. Human capital is the scarcest resource Bain trades in and they do all they can to find and develop it.

    Cons

Bain is a great company and does its best to create a supportive and engaging workplace. However, like any client services firm, there are times, albeit rare, where client needs win out over those of employees.

    Advice to Management

Continue to push your employees to strive for the best. Allow each person to find how they can "make Bain work for them."
