    Pros

    Benefits were decent, nice people

    Cons

Lack of promotions despite good performance. Hours can get long, and very few young people. I wish there were more young people. I was generally the youngest person by at least 10 years in almost every meeting I attended and I was 29.

I have been working at Baker Hughes full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great culture and office environment. Lots of collaboration and team work. Schedules are pretty flexible.

    Cons

Promotions from within always seem to be predetermined. Baker is very poor at back-filling and moving great candidates up the chain. Have to make many lateral moves for years before finally getting a chance to move up. Executive leadership is poor.

    Advice to Management

Give the younger generation a chance to step up. Don't just talk about career progression, act on it!

I worked at Baker Hughes full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Baker Hughes loves to train their employees. They sent me to rigs, classes, and provided online training. I learned a great deal about the oilfield during my time there.

    Cons

Pay. In order to make ends meet, most of my co-workers (myself included) took on part time work.

    Advice to Management

Show your employees that they really matter. The Energize system was a great rewards plan, but it doesn't pay the bills.

    Pros

Benefits, coworkers, advance logging and Drilling services

    Cons

Integrity is a core value, however management usually does not show a commitment to doing the right thing for employees. Only when it benefits the company.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and work with employees. Do not take the easy road of walking an employee out the door..... Working with the current employee to make a
Him or Her a productive member of your organization.
