I have been working at Baker Hughes full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent pay, global opportunities, make great efforts to be impactful to the community. Employee safety is held in very high regard. Somewhat flexible with working remotely when needed. Permissive vacation is coming next year.

    Cons

Things have changed for the worse since merging with GE. Much more matrixed, bureaucratic, and leadership vision is unclear. Work-life balance is challenging.

I worked at Baker Hughes as an intern

    Pros

The team i worked with was so friendly and helpful. Lots of hands on work, and they made sure the interns were participating and adding value to the company, rather than just observing.

    Cons

Because of the merger, no mention of return offers.

I have been working at Baker Hughes full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Abilty to work remotely

    Cons

Since the acquisition by GE, morale is at its lowest I've ever seen. There's a lot of big talk, but no clear direction. Many employees are leaving for better opportunities, and many are being laid off. The ones left have no idea what their job is. GE seems very disjointed, and communication is mediocre at best. There's not much regard for employees.

    Advice to Management

    Get it together.

I have been working at Baker Hughes as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

company with hours, I was working long hours and the pay was good

    Cons

Some of the supervisors they have no management skills and honestly some of them they yell at you as they think you are kid or you are slave and that was the mean reason why I left, again I am not say all of them but they have few guys like that

    Advice to Management

Try to check your supervisors management level, the company could be great place to work if they do not have these mental problems

    Pros

I have the pleasure to work with very skilled and hard working professionals.

    Cons

Keep the best and dont reward sub par performance with different career paths.
