I worked at Bakersfield Family Medical Center full-time

    Pros

The people I worked with were great. There were a lot of women in management positions.

    Cons

I think the compensation package was lower at BFMC than at other healthcare entities.

I have been working at Bakersfield Family Medical Center (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, set schedule, holidays off. Thats it.

    Cons

No advancement, lack of professionalism, no learning opportunity, the PAY, people in charge are all friends and only hire their friends.

    Advice to Management

Honestly, BFMC turns away it's best workers. This company is looked down upon other Medical Groups in Central California.

  6. "The worst thing about this company is the gossip aspect amongst coworkers and management. Poor management skills."

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Bakersfield Family Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The relationships you create with co-workers. If you're accepted of course. Insurance is subpar, PTO,.

    Cons

Otherwise expect rumors, gossip, people run up to HR and management constantly. Childish adults working there. It's embarrassing. Low pay, no advancement, pay raises are 6 months later after your year, no back pay for that. Irresponsible management. HR is a joke, they create more drama where it already exists.

    Advice to Management

Implement better management skills. Stop picking at the good employees you have left. That is why your employee turnaround is so high. Otherwise good job trying to manage the drama, it's extensive.

I worked at Bakersfield Family Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers, decent break rooms, benefits were ok, could schedule a doctor appt next door if need be.

    Cons

No growth, high turn around, had low or no raises at all, several departments are short staffed, the people who can get work done quickly get handed much more, they can burn out some of the best employees.

    Advice to Management

Share the load equally, hire more people(preferably those who know the work).

I worked at Bakersfield Family Medical Center full-time

    Pros

None left after change in CEO after previous CEO passed away in 2012.

    Cons

Not a "for employee" environment. No loyalty to long term employees. Shift in management meant shift in job titles and nepotism runs rampant within the organization as of late and at the hands of the new CEO. New CEO has a tainted past with a previous employer and is a disgrace to the community.

    Advice to Management

Someone step up to the plate and make the corporate office aware of the happenings within the organization.

I worked at Bakersfield Family Medical Center full-time

    Pros

There really are no pros for this employer. The employees are overall very good people. Administration is dangerous.

    Cons

Shady characters running company who are only motivated by profits. No desire to do the right thing for patients.

    Advice to Management

    Retire.
