I worked at Balboa Capital full-time for more than a year

    Pros

When applying for jobs, employers are impressed at any reps who stay more than 1 year because the ethics are terrible and deals are scarce. There are good, competent people at Balboa, who are fun to work with and have a fresh vision on how to change in the years to come. The name is relatively well-known.

    Cons

This company is sued routinely (Google it). Balboa is known as the 'bootcamp' of the equipment finance industry for good reason- Long hours...200+ calls/day to start, questionable management practices. Reps are regularly encouraged to price-gouge customers to maximize profits. Their contracts have fine print to the point that any business owner with some legal knowledge and attention to detail usually calls after receiving them with questions you are directed to spin. Balboa Capital reserves the right to change terms at any time, so after deals close, reps are often directed to amend agreements on less savvy customers at their expense for which they have no legal recourse.

I have been working at Balboa Capital full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great place to start a career off. There is quick room for growth within first couple years. The work is not easy but if you work hard you can definitely make good money in commission after establishing yourself.

    Cons

Would be nice to have more events to strengthen culture throughout the company.

    I worked at Balboa Capital

    Pros

Nice office location Meet some cool people

    Cons

Almost everything. Poor salary Telemarketing job. Most 4 star reviews are pushed off by recruiting to hide the honest reviews. (THIS SHOULD SPEAK VOLUME). The ones who succeed are selling lies to customers No leads all abused and pushed around. Training is garbage! Management is full of liars. If you are current college graduate just go look anywhere else but here trust me on this dig deeper into the reviews here and even the class action lawsuits into the company.
